I am a firm believer each team will have their hands full, with the explosive talented players on each team. Can’t wait to watch.

Everyone knows you can’t use common opponents to prove one team can beat another, but it you look at the body of work I believe OSU competes in this game and if they play with the intensity of the semifinal game will win this.
ND did not get blown out. If they punch one in right before halftime it’s a 7 point game and the whole feel in the second half is different. Bottom line Alabama didn’t look invincible against what turns out is a second tier ND team.
ND beat Clemson at less than full strength. When Clemson had everyone on the field they handled ND.
OSU took Clemson to the woodshed.
You see the dots I’m connecting. OSU > Clemson > ND and ND played respectably against Alabama.
Day and his crew had prepared perfectly for Clemson. Obviously they spent a long time at it which may explain why they didn’t blow out everyone in the regular season (a little looking ahead). The players had revenge and a little Dabo provided bulletin board quotes for motivation. IF the coaching staff can make as good a plan for Alabama AND the players can put together the same intensity we’ll be in a position to win.

Hopefully, We beat Nick Saban and Alabama, Again. But, If we don't, The season was made by getting revenge on Clemson, And Dabo Sweeney. Would've been even better if we could've played Xichigan. Our season was a succes.

Fan,
Great points! I think what will also be a big part of the buckeyes success is getting pressure on Mac Jones, the way they did Trevor Lawrence. Mac isn’t a scrambling QB, so we must take a huge advantage in the area and exploit the hell out of that.
I’m also giving Shaun Wade one finally chance before I cast him off the island of elite Buckeye players. He is going to have to have the game of his life covering Smith from Alabama or else his draft still go keep going down and he is going to have to really earn that money when he gets to the league.

Dont forget that the god guru of college football, Nick (all my players are awesome students and we dont get covid except me) Saban put the Buckeyes at Number 5 in his final picks. I just hope the Bucks aren't satisfied and content with making Dabo Dimwitty eat crow. Agree with fan again that OSU has a legit shot PROVIDED it ramps the intensity and controls both lines of scrimmage. As for Wade, it's his last chance for redemption as I think his cautious play has already cost him big $$.

Read today that Fields should be gtg as well as Wyatt Davis. I hope we get Harrison and Friday back to provide some DE depth. Agree with everyone else,,,gotta get pressure on Mac Jones and make him throw short passes and then the other thing---be efficent in the red zone once again. Wade ought to be motivated no doubt. He's got a chance for signicant redemption which could make him some serious $$$ in the draft.

If Wade can shutdown Smith or Waddle, I think he will redeem himself. To me this all about keeping the ball in front of them by applying pressure every down to keep those WR’s no where near the 20+ Yards down field.
I was very impressed with the defense especially making adjustments and getting the big plays when needed.
This team reminds me of the 2015 buckeyes, to an extent. The prior NC team had that “it” factor and made the “crucial plays” when needed.
I read too many comments about “you’re going to get dog walked and crushed by Alabama and really hope we can bring this one home.

Bighoss,
That’s my bad I am speaking about the other stud they have in there with smith. I thought the name started with a W and Waddle came to my mind.
Yeah Mac Jones isn’t my “watch that guy” player either. He hasn’t played a game all year with constant pressure and I want to see if he can handle that against the buckeyes.

It will be interesting to see how Ohio State responds to this game. I feel like it will be hard for them to match the intensity of the Clemson game. There were a lot of motivating factors and seems like they left everything out there on the field. Hoping for as repeat of that intensity level

If this were a road game at say Wisc or Penn St,,,maybe a let down. But it's the Super Bowl of all College Football against Bama. The question is if we can execute against them the way we did vs Clemson. Clemson wasn't ready for us,,Bama will be. But I feel like we are peaking too at the right time,,this being our 8th game of the season. There will be a ton of future NFL draft picks on that field next Monday night. Both teams.

You must be thinking of John Metchie III. (there are no WR's starting with a W) Interesting that the kid is out of Brampton, Ontario.

Reports out there that Waddle is practicing and could return for the game. Would be curious to see how well he’d play after being out for so long. Just him being in the game could change things a bit, even if he is rusty.

So with the rumors of Smith and Togiai out, we also have Harrison still out most likely since he hasn’t competed his 17 days. What a sh*t show. Our D line is depleted.

There are serious talks about moving the NC game to the following Monday, due to Ohio State's covid issues. Reportedly, Togiai, Garret and Tyreke Smith are out, which would decimate our defensive front. The Big Ten needs to move to make their protocol from 17 days, to 10 days, for a level playing field vs. SEC guidelines.

Someone explain the meaning of equality and why Ohio State had this on their helmets? I'm sure those responsible for the politicizing our helmets, would have preferred a BLM on the back of the helmets. Let's stick to 'Buckeyes'.

I hate to tell you this jock, but the Ohio State players came up with the idea of having it on the back of their helmet. I can't believe you two aren't knowledgeable about your Buckeyes.

'Obviously', the Clemson RB coach had to sit out the game, having tested positive for Covid 19. Unlike Ohio State and their mandated, late testing, Clemson had their last tests mid-week and nothing beyond that. The coach, working closely with his RB's in pregame preparation, it gives an elevated likelihiood of his position players, contracting it as well. Funny, our defensive front, who would be physically in contact and exposed to an infected Clemson RB, all come down with the virus after almost 3 hours of close, in-game contact. Sorry, I'm not willing to throw the blame on our players, who sacrificed their Christmas experience with their families, in order to limit the possibilities of further danger of exposure to the team. There was a lot of self sacrifice from the Buckeye players and coaches, in an effort to limit the effects of this virus on the team.

The Covid 19 situation is going to play a major part of this years National Championship final. There are going to be a million different opinions on whether the Buckeyes should go ahead and play the game, albeit, under a tremendous handicap. Granting Alabama such a huge advantage, would essentially be making it a mere formality of handing the trophy to the Crimson Tide.
There is serious talk by all parties involved, to move the game to the 18th or possibly to Saturday, January 23rd. Having the game played on Saturday night, makes a lot more sense than a week night, when people have to get up and go to work the following morning.
Special accomodations needs to be given for the victims of this viral menace. Some, are willing to treat this the same as players out with injury or suspension, due to infractions. Simply not the same. If I'm Alabama, I would want my opponent at full strength, to add absolute legitimacy to a potential win, opposed to a huge askerisk attached to the outcome of the game.
Alabama must not forget that their team was devastated with a large, Covid outbreak just prior to the opening of the season (40+ players) and if they were inundated with the same situation the Buckeyes have had to deal with, they themselves would want and appreciate appropriate considerations.

Ohio State should simply offer themselves up as sacrificial lambs, kneeling at the throne of Nick Saban. As you allude, this is going to be a monster, topic of discussion the coming days.

You know I think Nick Sabin will make the right choice here and likely postpone. Whoever talked about the game having a less meaningful victory, I think Nick would would personally agree with that. You won, but under what pretense.... He isn’t the type of guy to stomp on a dead mans neck and call defeat, I think he wants to show they’re the best and will beat the buckeyes when they’re at their best too.
Let’s hope for the sake of calling this a legitimate game they postpone it. I know the Scarlet and Grey haters won’t like it but, let’s be honest it’s not about fairness it’s about having each team “covid” healthy. I would gladly postpone if Alabama were in the Buckeyes shoes, I want to beat them at full strength and no “covid” excuses.
How much for the ocean front house in Nebraska?? We’re only a few hundred years away from a coast line along those Midwestern states ROTFL.
Each team needs to be in a bubble so this game can be what it is a huge show down of the nations two powerhouse schools (Clemson has only been on the map a fess years), Buckeyes and Bama have always been in the front of the line.
I would also rather see us get the brakes blown off the Chevy before forfeiting.
