Haskell Garrett is I read today. Wade is in a bad spot. Had an off year. Reality in my opinion is he is playing oop. He's a #3 cb,,,not a #1. He had a pretty good year last season with that role. Okuda playing #1 and Arnette #2. A number of guys have decisions to make.

I have been impressed with the classy manner Alabama coaches and players have conducted themselves, post-game. Of course, not all their fans have taken the same approach.
I think Saban and his players still have the 28 point shellacking, they experienced in the championship game, two years ago, fresh in their minds. Ohio State just experienced a 28 point shellacking, which will be a great motivator and reminder, that we are not quite there yet and there is a lot of work to be done.

dude that Bama team was unreal, it wasn't our loss it was their win, hat's off to them
lost in the Sarkisian nonsense his drinking afforded (legitimately) his critics, he is a great tactician...backdrop story here (since I am a Raiders fan), before the Raiders hired Lane Kiffin they were conducting interviews and Sarkisian was in the lead to be hired...but he fuct up and told Al in the interview how much he needed to have this kid Kiffin on his staff if he took the job, and he kept raving about Kiffin...so Al, being the Dark Lord of the Sith that he was, he interviewed Kiffin and hired him...his logic was well if Sarkisian needed Kiffin, why the eff do I need Sarkisian?
also lost is that Kiffin took a clown show with Jamarcus Russell and Robert Gallery (lol!) and turned them into an actual football team, but the ceiling for that garbage roster was only so high
now Alabama brings in Bill O'Brien (a former NFL head coach) as an OC, which is something people around the country should be saying WOW! about but kind of flew under the radar...that is part of the disparity
one more thing, how different would the history of the football world be if the Dolphins hadn't flunked Drew Brees's physical (and signed Daunte Culpepper) when Saban was their head coach? what a before and after event...maybe Saban stays in Miami, maybe the Pats lose a few rings, maybe there is no Alabama dynasty, or maybe there is with Urban and Tebow (who almost went to Bama)...incredible to think about
This is the impossibility of the existence of nothing.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and predict Ohio State, Alabama, and Clemson to be in the playoffs next year. I know, crazy huh? I’m sticking with it though.
Except they more or less scored every time they had the ball. We were hanging with them offensively in the first quarter. We blinked first when we kicked the field goal. It was over from there. It's not like Teague played badly. We were overmatched on the LOS. Bama had a game plan to stop Trey from beating them and they would have. Even if he didn't get hurt this was a 3 TD loss.

All 3 will have green rookies at THE MOST important position in all team sports. Another good team with a good experienced QB and talented WRs could get in and surprise. If the same 3 make it and look average on offense, that could be the final straw for expanding the 4 team playoff.

LOL.......I can tell you are a big risk taker...lol
I think the big interest will be whether A&M continues their ascent. Will ND stay among the elite? Will Oklahoma make a comeback? Will Georgia rise up from the 2nd tier? With Fickell getting a new contract, extending to 2026, the re-signing of DC Marcus Freeman, ensure the Bearcats grow their prominence and get themselves in the playoff picture, that eluded them this year? Can Tom Allen continue his dramatic transformation at Indiana?

'Upper' elite was a big stretch....my bad. Evidently, they are elite enough to convince the playoff committee, however. Think A&M should have gotten another shot at Bama. I'm with you though, not entirely convinced or impressed by Brian Kelly.
Luke Fickell could have jumped at a number of inviting offers, but opted to stay at Cincinnati and apparently convinced his DC there are even better days ahead for the program. In 2021 they open at Arkansas and then host Indiana Sept. 24th.
