In Lindor'a first interview at the Met's spring training, he admitted he didn't give it his all last year in Cleveland. The truth OR does he need an excuse for having his worst year when it comes time for contract negotiations? I could tell he was going through the motions at times

Tomorrow is opening day. Thoughts on the upcoming season? I think they are an 80-85 win team this year. The offense will be a bit weak. They go as far as the young starting pitching takes them.

The indians will be battling Detroit for last place in the division with 10-15 games below .500. Thank you Mr. $4 billion Dolan family.

Honestly what worries me most is the lease situation at the ballpark. They are only contractually obligated to stay there 2 more years and Cleveland doesn’t have the public money to put into it. I don’t want them to leave.

Bieber with a quality start (by the bare minimum), but no offensive help thus far.

I don’t want them to leave. Been a tribe fan for as long as Francona's age, long time, I am done watching, supporting them in anyway, buying or purchasing tickets or any thing that has to do with MLB!!! First they take away Chief Wahoo, which they say is racist!! which is BULL - - - - !!! This was all caused by Manfred saying he would take away all star game if not done!!! Now they are moving all star game out of Atlanta because the state says you have to have ID TO VOTE!!!! You purchase tickets to game, you need ID, you buy a beer, you have to ID!!!! SO WHAT IS THE PROBLEM with state doing this!!! I know someone will say what does this have to do with Cleveland baseball. Wake up people, the left and stupid democrats taking more of your rights away!!!! Indians and baseball can pack your bags and move, I suggest China that be a good place for you, California is all ready full of idiots!!! Or maybe this will be censored and removed and some of you will think that fine also!!!

I don't think anyone will have any trouble with, or miss not watching the Indians this year, if that is their preference. If Dolan thinks it was tough for the Tribe to make any money for him with the team and players he has had the last several years, wait until this season pans out.
As for MLB, I'll be waiting to see where they move the All-star game and their headquarters to, since NY and almost 40 other states have the same (voter ID) or more restrictive voter laws than the new Georgia law does.

Atlanta is a lousy professional sports town, and many don't like name, Braves. MLB was basically looking for any reason to move it As for Cleveland, thankfully for them, playing Detroit and KC 19x a year keeps them quasi-relevant.

The All Star game would still be in Atlanta if not for the soft porn author who never acknowledged she lost the governors race.

HOw many games will the TRibe lose this year? This could be a 65-70 win season, only because of some decent pitching. Otherwise, save your $$$ and go see the Clippers or the Akron ball club,

Cesar Hernandez traded to the White Sox this afternoon in exchange for LHP Konnor Pilkington. Pilkington had a 3.48 ERA at the AA level this year with 71 strikeouts and 21 walks in 62 innings (14 starts). He was a 3rd round pick in 2018 out of Mississippi State but was not one of Chicago’s top 30 prospects according to MLB Pipeline. Owen Miller is getting called up and will play the majority of the time at second for the time being.

The Indians or Guardians will be staying in Progressive Field for the foreseeable future. A new 15 year lease was announced this morning that can be extended up to 10 years beyond that.

I was hoping the Dolan's were gonna move them to Nashville or Billings, Then we could create a new franchise called the Cleveland Indians, Just like we did in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns. I really want the Dolans Guadians seek life elsewhere.

Sports Illustrated may have "hit the nail on the head" when, in their baseball preseason issue, they predicted the tribe would finish at .500.

i disagree the tribe will not finish at .500,especially if the white sox sweeps them or take the series. right now the twins and kc two losers have banged up on the tribe.plus the tribe is not capable of finishing with a winning streak. not with a club thats hitting 26th ,pitching around 4.40 era thats not going to do it.

Spent the weekend at progressive field with the indians. Sad end to this dismal season. Two observations, please just my opinions. Current interim manager is very disappointing and will draw up his lineup and never make a change or adapt to game situations. Maybe he's been ordered to give everyone a chance to prepare for next season, but with no in-game day strategy, his inaction is an insult to the team and paying fans. It's like spring training all over. Finally, any way you sugarcoat it, if ownership won't spend a little to bolster the lineup before next season starts, no amount of fancy marketing will hide the ineptness of the team. I'm a season ticket holder, have been for several years, and feel cheated by the product put on the field this year. With just a little offensive help (translate spending) this team could have easily won the division again. Our front office is remarkable given the financial restraints placed on it by ownership.

Ownership has indicated they may spend more next year. How much remains to be seen. I personally feel that Tito makes the front office look better than they really are. They have done a good job overall, but the team really misses Tito when he’s not there. I have not been impressed with DeMarlo Hale at all. Sandy Alomar did a much better job last year. I think the Guardians will struggle even more next year with attendance. A lot of fans are angry over the name change.

With such an insulting snub of being passed over for Hale, I'd be gone.

How soon after today's final home game will all the Indians signage be taken down? I told my wife I'd guess by the weekend it's all gone. Too Bad. Just like it's still Jacobs Field to me they will be the Indians until the Guardians win a world Series. I'll call them the Guardians then.

Why oh why oh why do they keep running Shaw out to throw?? He has given up more tying runs/winning runs than anyone else on the staff. Yet they put him out there continuously. They surely will let him go in the off season. Right?

They let him walk before for doing the same.

The final game under the name Cleveland Indians. 6-0 win at Texas. 80-82 final record.

At least we stayed ahead of the Tigers. If the pitching staff doesn't have all those injuries, we might have made it interesting.
