Shelbys a similar city to Willard and they are 66 points better. Frick Shelby has 60% more boys than Willard. You'll notice I didn't say enrollment.

Here are the school district populations for each (as of 2010 - the most recent year there's data for)
Willard - 11,053 Shelby - 13,087

Don't mean to prolong the subject, but if Willard was 60% larger than a school and had a Div1 QB?
As you've pointed out, playing in the River Division will mean more wins. Should mean fewer injuries. Should mean more kids coming out and staying out. Should mean more community support. Should mean more dedication in the weigh room. All of which should equate to even more wins. Stay true, best of luck.

D6 v D4 is pretty much all you need to know.

Yes, and The community population may not be a direct link to the school's enrollment.

Everyone should get to have a D1 population base from which to recruit, I mean draw students from.

When you have a declining population, declining interest and declining support, the results may decline as well.

I just want to know why Willard's football coach would allow cross-fit as the main source of weight training. This is not a cut on cf at all, but this cf style of training is horrible for any football program. Do they want kids to get stronger and bigger or just more in shape? It seems the way the weight training program is going it is the latter.

I wonder if this decision is based on the size of the players on the team. Cross-fit can build strength, agility and quickness. If the team does not have any massive bodies it can be helpful, depending on the exercises, because it is total body conditioning. If the average lineman is 6'1+ and goes 225lbs+ then cross-fit may not be the best.

Could be, and agility is very important in sports however I think the right direction is getting someone(s) in the weight room that are more certified. Taking a couple weekend classes to become CF certified just doesn't cut it in my book. I have seen plenty of CF people whom other than looking somewhat in shape, are the most unathletic people I have ever seen on Earth. Every position requires a bit of a different focus. CF is bland and in no way should be the focus in any weight room in any facility. Nevertheless, isn't the girl running CF moving or has already moved? So who will be in charge next year or from here forward?

Sounds like the job may be open. Take your wisdom and make Willard's weight room great again.

I am too old and by my own words am not qualified to do such a job but that does not mean that there isn't someone out there.

But you are qualified enough to critique others and know what is needed so by your own words you are able to fix your problems.

It has been addressed and there will be a whole new team put on the field next season From what I have heard there was nothing to "address". The program that was implemented this year did it's job and now it is evolving to the next phase.

Seems as though I struck a never with some fellow crossfitters perhaps. I have a close friend who coaches on the college level and I asked him tonight about implementing such a program into a football lifting program. He said there are a few things that they do, that his programs have been already doing for the last 20 years. He told me what most do not understand is that people see these ripped up people doing crossfit on TV and do not realize that all of them are on different weight programs as well, its not just all crossfit. He said, you aren't going to walk around all jacked up by doing a 5 minute WOD, whatever that is, 4-5 days a week. He also told me that crossfit doesn't equate increased athletic ability. He said most of their lifting techniques cause injury for example Kipping pullups?. What I gathered is that there are some incorporation of some crossfit like things, but it seems like most have already been doing it.

Maybe, your problem is you see certain exercises as a Crossfit drill, when in fact the movement or routine has been a weight room excercise that athletes have used for years but has been made famous by an evolving workout fad. Many if not all Crossfit WODs are made up of traditional exercises but used in a way to also improve cardio and flexibility. Both of which, if used properly, can build a good base for a new system being implemented to make changes.
