Wow what a choke job by Carmens Crew. [br Still that was one of the most entertaining games I've seen in quite awhile. The money team was for real. That 4th quarter was UGLY though. Didnt understand the love affair with the 3 from CC when the Buford drive and dish or score himself had been so effective early on.

Craft and Diebler announce they are done.

Even before this I wasn’t expecting a whole lot from him. I wonder if he could get a medical redshirt depending on how long he ends up being out? I don’t think he used that at harvard?

Ohio State picked up a nice commitment in Brice Sensabaugh today. He’s a top 75 recruit that would probably be higher if it wasn’t for injuries. Very intriguing prospect with his size and how he plays. The 2022 class looks very good and deep with all positions covered basically. Looking forward to see how this group pans out.

4.0 student. His coach says he reminds him of Charles Barkley. Kind of a clone of EJ Liddell, with guard skills. Made 40% of his 3-pointers his Sophomore season, averaging 6 shots per game.

I read that with the advent of the transfer portal college coaches view that as an almost bigger tool to build a roster other than recruiting the HS seniors. The reason---- Kids are 'college ready" to play from the jump.

I hope this Grad transfer plan works. Seth Towns, Jimmy Sotos, Jamari Wheeler, Cedric Russell and Joey Brunk are graduates from their previous school and maybe one of them is good enough to start this year.

I think Wheeler and Russell are going to have big contributions to this team. Both have lots of experience and bring different talents to the team, Wheeler with his defense and Russell with his scoring. Brunk may not log huge minutes but we all saw last year how much we needed another big man at different times. Towns is plagued by injuries and unfortunately for Sotos there’s just other guards who are better than him(Johnson and Wheeler). Sotos did play well last year though before he got hurt when he came in for Walker.

I hope you are right, but none of them addresses the loss of Washington's points. Wheeler and Russel both have smaller builds than CJ Walker who was physically handled in the Big Ten. I know Russell is coming in as a 15+ point scoring but he won't be playing Arkansas State any more. Sotos and Towns will be best on the bench, IMO, they are very limited. Brunk is tall but thin with below average skills and if he is on the floor it means Young, Key or Liddell is out, and that is not good. I just don't see the game changer from the 5 grad transfers they brought in.

And if Brunk is in, that doesn’t mean Young or Liddell is out. Everything I’ve read is that Liddell will be at the 4 all season. Key and Brunk will be at the 5(along with Young too). Young can also play the 4.

When I look at this roster, there is lots of depth at Forward/Center position. Plenty of muscle. Sueing, Young and Liddell as your starters at the 3,4, and 5 with formidable backups in Brown (good athlete), Towns, Key and Brunk. I also see Branham as more of a 3 man/small forward, but he may have to play the 2 out of necessity. Where I see problems is with guard play. Replacing Duane Washington and CJ Walker is going to be tough. Meechie at the point and Ahrens at the 2. Sotos as the back up PG? I hope the Russell kid can help us, otherwise I don't see depth there or at the shooting guard unless Etzler can play. Hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see us bring a great shooting team.

You forgot Wheeler, the transfer from Penn State who was a 3 year starter. He’ll be a solid addition to the backcourt and Johnson will take a step up I think after getting good minutes last year. Etzler is redshirting, already been announced, and even if he did play he would be more of a 4, maybe some 3.

I see the Bucks playing small before going big. I've read Justin Ahrens and Eugene Brown have been doing some practice at the 4 spot for when they go small.

All Wheeler needs to do is play solid defense(could be defensive player of the year) and run the team. If they get about 10 points a night out of him that’s just a bonus. I think the two of them can play together. Walker was barely pushing 6’ and him and Washington played together.

Walker may have been similar in height as Wheeler and Russell but he was listed at 195 pounds. Wheeler is 170 and Russell can't be much more. That's small for Big Ten guards. Washington was listed at 6'3 210 playing along side Walker and has NBA potential.

And guards in the big ten aren’t just posting up on the block all game long, a few inches or pounds here and there isn’t going to matter that much.

Yep, Holtman says he's talked to some coaches who said they were going to recruit the portal harder than new Freshman and a few who said they weren't going to recruit Freshmen at all.

Most of the schools in the Big 10 have questions at guard spots

I’m excited for this team, they added some much needed depth at center by adding Joey Brunk in the transfer portal. Liddell is going to be a first team Big Ten player. I think Meechie Johnson is going to have a big jump. They definitely lose some scoring with Washington leaving and Walker at PG, which can be replaced a bit by transfers Jamari Wheeler and Cedric Russell.

I feel like we added more than we lost. Better on ball defender in Wheeler and some veteran size in Brunk who can give us some boards and some garbage baskets in the paint that we didn't get last year without Wesson.
lots of experience with those two,,one year rental on both but thats College basketball in 2021 since the portal became a thing.

Who is replacing Washington and Walker's 26pts a night is my concern. Knowing Brunk has not played since May of 2020 I hope he can provide more than what Towns did after sitting a year before arriving. Better defense may be the key for this season unless they can find some consistent scoring.
