What does everyone think 2021 looks like for the OCC?

Not sure yet what to think about 2021. My guess is we will be back to a normal schedule so that will be good. Ashland lost a lot on both sides of the ball, but the loss of the entire offensive line will be hard to deal with. I'm not sure I can ever remember a time where we didn't have someone coming back that had some experience. Wooster should still be good, but new coach will have to adjust. I think right now if I had to pick, I think West Holmes will be up at the top. I really like what their coach is building down in Holmes County. Mansfield might be a sleeper. Played a ton of young kids last year.

Are Wooster and Lexington the only two with new head coaches?

Are Wooster and Lexington the only two with new head coaches? I think this is correct. I'm not 100% sure about Mount Vernon...I don't hear much about them.

I like Ashland, Wh, and Wooster, but with a new HC I'll be curious about how they transition. Mansfield can always be a dark horse to be honest. they will have something to say about who wins this league. Madison, Lex, and MV will battle to stay out of the basement this year

Where did Woosters And Lexintons coaches go? I was expecting Madison to move on from this coach but they must like him even though hes done nothing since being there. I guessing if theres not improvements this year he will be gone.

Lexington coach was fired and he went to Ashland Crestview to be an assassinate. Madison's coach is a good and a good coach. Don Shula couldn't win at Madison right now. Don't forget he did beat Mansfield this past season.

My opinion West Holmes and Ashland are the cream of the crop, after those 2 I think the rest could be very interesting.

This is my predictions for the upcoming season.
1. West Holmes 2. Mansfield—The Freshmen QB is going to be a stud by his senior season. 3. Ashland—They have to replace 5 olinemen 4. Wooster—New coach and replacing some good kids 5. Madison—could this be a year of improvement? Returning alot of the late season starters. Also have one of if not the best and fastest receivers in the area. 6. Mount Vernon 7. Lexington

Lexington Can't say that I disagree with some of your post BUT, Wooster gets a new coach and has the enrollment to replace kids every year. Ashland can do the same. West Holmes may be the pre-season favorite but they lost some important key players from last season. I do not know Mansfield's roster but if you say they have a good freshman QB, I do know they also have a senior QB. History shows Mt Vernon can win a couple games and stay out of the OCC basement. Lexington, the worst coached team in the OCC, had talent and returns starters that can get some OCC wins with the new coaching staff. Madison returning a lot from a 1-9 teams means they may be last again.

How are teams in the OCC looking? I know Ashland has been hosting a weekly 7on7 with some local schools this summer. We are now about 3 weeks away from the start of camp. Ready to actually get to watch a football game this fall.

It would appear that the change to unlimited summer contact for football has opened up a lot of smaller 7 on 7 events.

Good one 🙄 no… saying they were good I don’t really know much about Clear Fork other than these classes used to be good at least…

I was still under the impression CF was going to be in their unbalanced, wing t, type of offense again this year. Maybe I heard wrong though. But if they are in that offense, the 7 on 7 really won't mean much for them.

Very true, and many of us put even less value in the success of past 7th and 8th grade teams when evaluating a varsity team.

I don’t see the guy anymore so don’t know anything other than that.

Felt like doing my preseason poll today so here it goes.
1. West Holmes. - Feel like their program is on the rise. They have a coach that the players have bought into and I think they have enough players to get the job done. Also word on the street is they got a Running back from Loudonville that is very good. 2. Mansfield Sr. - Talent is there, they played a TON of young guys last year. Big question will be how far has the young QB come, and will he take the next step. 3. Ashland - I like the QB they have next in line, I like the defense, I don't like they have to replace the entire O-Line. In my 20 years of following the program I have never seen them have to replace the whole line. 4. Wooster- Honestly they could be higher on this list, but new Coach, new system...we will wait and see. 5. Mount Vernon - the one program I know very little about, but they are always in the middle. 6. Lexington - Another new (old) coach. Not sure they have the excitement for football down there in Lex. 7. Madison - At some point they are going to get the shipped turned around. I expect them to win a few games this year...and still finish at the bottom.

I have no dog in this fight, but here's hoping Mansfield Senior starts the year 0-1, Ha!
Honestly, I believe Wooster deserves the benefit of the doubt. Fourth seems brutal despite your concerns. Other than that, thank you for the input.

Other than that, thank you for the input. I'm not saying they can't. They very well could be the best team in the league this year. They have been very consistent the last few years. But I have seen what can happen at Wooster when the coaching is not right. It took Haas a few years to get it going...and when he did it went well. But before that Wooster always had the talent, they just couldn't put it together. I want to see what this new coach can do. Maybe he will step in and go, but that's not what happened last time.

Let’s be honest New Philadelphia wins the OCC this year and probably for many to come. I know they are not in this year but they will be the best OCC current or future this year.
Otherwise 1a.west holmes 1b. Ashland 3. wooster 4. Mansfield 5. Lexington 6. mt.Vernon 7 Madison
