According to the Dailey Chief Union... All HS boys basketball coach positions were pulled from the agenda of this past weeks board meeting. What that means... Time will tell. Great coach and tough as nails.... Next months board meeting might be interesting to say the least at Upper.

This may be a minor timing issue. The timing issue really isn't minor at all when off-season activities begin in a few weeks. |

High School coaches work under single year contracts every year and some do not get hired until the new school year begins but it does not affect their off-season activities which normally begin in April or May with open gyms and workouts. |

Leading up to the date of the next BOE meeting, there's a scrimmage, youth camp, JH team camp, freshman/JV team camp, and varsity team camp. Not to mention another varsity team camp that starts on the day of that school board meeting, plus a few practices in between. Who would want to spend time doing all that if you didn't have assurances that you would get your job back? |

The Jv coach was hired at May's meeting. I would hope the off-season activities would still be happening. Last year coaches did not get hired until Sept but most were still in the gyms when they could be during the off-season.

Winslow is not on the agenda but Scott Emerick and Zane Kitzler were.

At executive session of board meeting today. Winslow and assistants were renewed. Along with school calendar for next year and new guidance position created.. Guess there was only smoke and no fire. Or maybe the board seen the large amount of support drummed up after they pulled the contracts off the last meetings agenda.
