I just think the time has come to either put all ten of those schools into one league without the divisions or pick 8 and get back to the traditional 8 school league and be done with it. How many more schools will refuse to go into a certain division or appeal or don’t want to play certain schools in football but will everything else. At some time this has to stop and come to an end.

Follow the rules, follow the rules! What rules? My understanding is that this league has limited written policies and attempts to impose what they think was the oral agreement. My understanding is that several small schools see the SBC as unorganized compared to their previous affiliations but stay because key sports like it. Please push on the River schools football so they can “organize” their own. Some wish to stay depending on sport but we all know if you mess with football enough - BOOM!

Of course there is more disorganization with moving parts and 22 schools than a good ole fashioned 8-team league that's been together for 75 years. Eventually, it may be the 8 or 10 teamer that was mentioned but for some of the Bay schools, it's my understanding they want to try the 5/5 first. Nothing off the Lake schools back. Actually, works pretty well for them from what I've gathered. Filling open weeks with the crossovers is a big deal.

kick sandusky and tiffin's *** out eliminate the bay and make one happy SBC let the river go on their own. all problems solved. The more I think about it the better I think this sounds. Let Sandusky and Columbian find their way and have the other 8 schools be a league on their own. Any other scenario for Huron or Edison is insane. It’s time to move on from the SBC divisions. I’d rather be proactive and get ahead then sit back and do nothing and not have a home.

I heard a rumor that Arcadia applied for the River and Willard back to Bay in FB?

I heard a rumor that Arcadia applied for the River and Willard back to Bay in FB? I don’t blame them if true. With North Baltimore and Cory Rawson leaving and Elmwood coming in, Arcadia will just be a new punching bag for everyone else in that league. I don’t see Vanlue hanging on much longer as a school so not sure how long the BVC lasts to be honest.

Elmwood had a good year in football, but let's face it, they are a middle of the league program across the board. But, certainly stronger than the outgoing NB and CR. I don't care for the SBC's theory of growing from the bottom up. They need to add quality instead of the Woodmore's and Arcadia's of the world.

How about after Woodmore joins and maybe Arcadia in the River. They could have an 8 school league for football. Arcadia Hopewell Loudon Gibsonburg Margaretta Lakota Tiffin Calvert St. Joe Woodmore

Looks great for football ONLY.
Wrestling would be really fun...doesn't anyone understand that there is more than just football? Tennis? Soccer? Girls golf? So many people forget...

The paying sports will always be more of a factor in the discussion when changes a need to be made. If it's good for football and basketball, the other sports will work them selves out. If schools are just looking at options and there is not urgency for a change then all sports get more coverage in the talks. No offense to any sport but a great crowd for a local soccer game is 300 fans. A good crowd for a local football game is 2,000 fans.

^^^ 300 fans at any Soccer game should be considered a sell out. I've seen bigger crowds at 9am Saturday morning Freshman football games, Than evening varsity soccer games, Boys or Girls.

Don’t forget there’d still be other schools in this league that don’t have football who could fill in some of those spots for other sports. SMCC, Old Fort, Danbury and New Riegel. That would be a solid small school league and I think everyone would be happy with it.

HAHAHA - There is lucky to be 500 people at a RIVER football game, NOT 2000.... Maybe, MAYBE at a LAKE game....

Need to get back to 8 school leagues again. Eventually schools getting bumped into a division they don’t want to be in will lead to a lot of hard feelings and IMO leading schools getting together and forming a league and bailing on the SBC divisions.

I find it disturbing we're talking Soccer in a Football Forum, Ha! That's true, but the topic was about how certain sports dictate the leagues a school may join and it strayed off topic of ticket sales for some sports contests. Someone posted 300 should be a state final for soccer and I wanted to mention attended a girls game between Madison and Ontario that sold over 300 tickets.

Back to the topic of football. How about a rundown of what we have with area leagues.
NLL - 11 teams. That number is just not going to work. They need to either add a 12th school or squeeze someone out.
BVC - North Baltimore and Cory Rawson will be gone after next year. Arcadia is exploring other options. Vanlue is on borrowed time.
SBC - Oak Harbor will be gone to the NBC after next school year. Woodmore will be coming to the River at the same time as well as Willard. New enrollment numbers come out in the spring so we will see where everyone will end up once that time comes. IMO this divisions thing needs to end.
