I'd say Cam Robinson will be #4. Can't believe he's a soph already...seems like he was a ballboy a season or 2 ago. The 5th starter is open competition. Well technically all spots are open but I think the top 4 guys are pretty set.

To my knowledge the best available not already mentioned are johnson and Wiers. But, I didn’t watch any Jv games last year. Joe will have them playing hard and they will d up. Plus Paxton and Weiss will step up offensively. Should be another fine year imo. Dawson, Adelman, and Pinkston will be missed. Especially on the defensive end. Hard to say how they will finish. We need another c5 prediction for some clarity.

We need another c5 prediction for some clarity. I'm not sure "clarity" is what I will provide, but I'll give my opinion. I agree with CLB, Robinson will be the 4th starter on the perimeter and the 5th spot is open competition. Johnson, Slone, possibly Rothaar are the leading candidates, but a few others may surprise. Once again, our bench will be bit short, with maybe 2 seeing meaningful minutes. Good news is.....the upcoming sophomore and freshman classes are more than solid...the future is very bright. 21/22 season will see 2 Seniors, 2 Sophomores and maybe a Freshman as starters....if not a Freshman then a 3rd Sophomore. Margaretta will be the favorite to win the league probably, followed by Willard, Huron and Port Clinton. Oak Harbor will be down a bit (I said that last year too and they were the only team in the league to beat Willard......twice). Port Clinton could be the surprise as they have a really good coach and a stud player. Edison will once again be at the #6 spot. I see Willard somewhere between 14-8 and 18-4 in the regular season....I'm leaning closer to the 18-4 because I'm a homer. The loss of this year's Senior class .... Pinkston, Addleman, Dawson is huge. Not just statistically, but for the intangibles that don't show up on the stat sheet. Colonel Crawford will be the favorite to win the d3 district....but they were this past year as well and look what happened. Much like this past year, Willard will struggle a bit in the first 10 games. But Joe and Hirsch will figure it out and have them playing their best ball at the end of the season. I'm not ruling out a 4th SBC Championship and a trip to the Sweet 16......homer I am.

The Weiss kid is one of the kids I think you're talking about. I've got higher hopes for the football team this year. I hoping 3 or 4 wins and competitive is most games.

The thing with next year's sophomore class is they will just flat out get after it. They know how to work. Several get together twice a week. My son is improving just being part of the group. I will say Trey stopped by and joined in the other day seeing his athletism up close is impressive.

Heard it wasn't pretty. Got beat badly by Western Reserve, played Crawford tough but lost that one also. Interested in seeing how Joe handles the bigs this off-season. Other than Weiss, nobody has earned any minutes. Cole will have to be the man in the middle, and he will. Slone, Johnson, and Rothaar will have to prove themselves in scrimmages, open gyms etc. Sounds like Slone might be leading the group thru the first week.

Did Crawford lose a lot from last season? I thought Western lost a lot.

Did Crawford lose a lot from last season? I thought Western lost a lot. CC lost 4 seniors. 2 starters and 1st 2 off bench. Return Valentine,Studer,Feichtner, and Mckibbin. Will have many players to chose from off a 1 loss jv team to fill the voids. I heard CC won both games last nite by 12 points or so. Heard Willard played much better against CC then they did against Western.

Best of luck to him....Norwalk basketball < Willard basketball over the next 4 years....not sure I understand the logic on this.

Watched the boys beat Avon yesterday by 4. They look like they have potential. Paxton, Weiss, Dawson, C. Robinson, Slone, I. Robinson, and Weirs made up the Varsity Roster. Isaac Robinson was a surprise for me. He played solid, good minutes.
The lost to Holy Name by 11 yesterday. Then this morning they lost to Riverside by 10 or so, then beat Norwalk badly by 21.

I had heard a Willard kid transferred to Norwalk, but wasn't sure if source was reliable. I'm thinking this kid is for Football as well? If so, if you combined both sports, then presumed logic is Norwalk>Willard.

Kids a good track and baseball player as well. Will want to do both, well all four I’m sure. He won the 100,200 and 400 in the sbc bay jr high meet. Great athlete. Norwalk is getting one of the best athletes Willard has to offer. My gut tells me he will be back but I could be wrong.

Family name is historically associated with Willard Athletics, family on the school board...leading the athletics committee. I'm hearing this past years Harlow Staff Award decision aided in the parent's decision making.....unreal if true.

Really classy move by the parent. Mr Holthouse, I'm not sure what is unclassy by a parent choosing what they feel is best for their child. Ultimately the reason is the only reason needed. Classless is bashing a parent for that. Didn't see you bashing Devon parents when he came to wiilard. Or even Joel Guth. Or Nolan Robinson. And please keep being your Classy self

I'll be fair; in an ideal setting, I wish kids stay at one place. How HS athletics has become free agency is a mystery to me.

Fair enough but the only way to measure a move like this is, in the future when they look back on it, did changing schools really help make their child more successful in life? If not, was it really worth it or was it just a knee jerk reaction to something petty?
