4 schools in 5 years, hmmm. For a guy that calls people by name for saying something similar you have a lot of nerve. Why not wish him the best like you have with br? Instead you say something like that? Don’t be so biased. If it’s ok for one certainly it should be ok for another. So if transferring your kid out of Willard is a "classy" move by a parent, is transferring into Willard looked at the same way? Asking for a friend.

Not the next HS award winner,,, but the best wrestler we’ve had probably since our 2014 season and a State Champion Candidate .
Really glad he’s coming back for his Senior season. Looking forward to watching him compete.

Yea, I can agree with this post. Nonetheless, its still a puzzling move. Family name is historically associated with Willard Athletics, family on the school board...leading the athletics committee. I'm hearing this past years Harlow Staff Award decision aided in the parent's decision making.....unreal if true. 12 Varsity letters and a starter all 4 years in each sport, standup kid in the community and good student (he earned that Harlow). Tell me that process isn't broken (popularity contest). Ben is probably one of the best athletes in 9-12 right now and losing him is a blow to multiple programs. Good family and hardest working kids around. Wishing them all the best. I’m sorry I have to jump in. This thread is hurting my head. Stupid move on the parents part. BR won’t see the field/court till Junior year. JR did not deserve the Harlow. AA had 12 letters ON TOP OF being ranked 3rd in the class. You can’t discredit this kid then proceed to say “JR was one of the best athletes” no. No offense to him at all. He was a good kid, good athlete. But that statement is just false. It’s sounds like mommy and daddy are getting on the forum and talking about it. I personally believe this is the dumbest move his parents can make. But we all know the Todd Father will take great care of him. I wish you guys nothing but the best, I hope Ben goes far in sports. Parents raised a good one. Just don’t agree with this move.

Didn't 2 girls earn 12 varsity letters this year in Willard? Stephens and Sowers. Did Sowers get jipped too? No Sowers did not get jipped. Stephens deserved it full heartedly. 12 letters. Ranked top 10 in the class. Sowers wasn’t ranked top 10. She didn’t have a higher GPA than Stephens. Now don’t get me wrong I’m not slandering Sowers. She was an athlete as well. Fantastic softball player and a solid basketball player. (Don’t know much about tennis). Stephens rightfully deserved it. End of story.

My feeling is you had 3 really solid choices for the girls 2 really solid choices for the boys Only one award for each. All 5 of those kids will be successful in college and honestly wish them ALL the very best!

Couldn’t agree more BK!

And maybe just maybe If BR doesn't see the field or court till his junior year it's because he was brought along and allowed to grow into a varsity player. It's called being developed. Where is in Willard being thrown to the wolves as a freshman knowing he's not ready for that. And remember to build a house you got to have a solid foundation. Fix the jr high (aka the foundation) and the Willard house will stop crumbling. Build your future. Get those numbers up. Develop the lesser players and make them better. Coaches got to have a good BOND with them. And on a basketball note Willard definitely has a bright future.

Willard’needed to give Pauley and Lawrence a coaching job and build them programs . lol no. Definitely not saying either of them. Saying you finally have a head coach that knows how to build and win. Let him bring people in that he trusts. To build his program.

Sad news to report Sandy Haas passed tonight.
Long long time queen & heart of the Flashes basketball family.
I was lucky enough to have seen her & Bob about five or six weeks ago out for coffee. She shared a quick story about how she used to be afraid to drive their trademark station wagon with a flash on it through Bellevue back in the day. “they wanted to attack us over there and flip it over“
Awesome woman RIP 😢

Flashes non-conference opponents.....
Upper Sandusky Carey Perkins Norwalk Shelby Sandusky Tiffin Columbian St. Paul Cardinal Stritch Bellevue Lucas Wynford
Not a slouch on the schedule (maybe Wynford), TC should lead the Lake Division, Bellevue and Sandusky will be formidable, Norwalk will be solid (Coach Gray), Perkins is kinda of an unknown, Upper and Carey have nice programs, Lucas always puts a good team on the floor, St. Paul always finds athletes, Shelby should be very solid even without Lantz and Pugh, and Cardinal Stritch is....well, they're Stritch.
Pretty good mix of bigger and smaller schools. Should be fun.

The next time someone make fun of you Willard folks, and you get your backs up, remember this thread.
If this conversation has to happen, let it happen at a BBQ or a bar, not in an open forum where the kids can read personal information about their misguided parents and substandard GPA's.
Hate to hear the news from Scarlett, but at least it flipped the script.

Watched Willard, South Central and Berlin Hilal yesterday for about 8 - 8 minute qtrs. South Central is gonna be a little better than I expected. The have several good shooters, 1 really good penetrater, and work really hard. They are very well coached. BH another school very well coached by a bit short on athleticism. Willard was short 2 probable starters and a 3rd kid that will see plenty of minutes...so 3 of their top 6/7 are on a school field trip to DC. Nonetheless, they looked solid at times and sloppy at times. It might take 4 to 6 games for them to figure things out, but when they do they're gonna be fun to watch.

I would agree C-5. There were only 6 boys there yesterday but I thought all 6 were solid. Add 3 more and we’re even stronger. Like you said,Going to take a few games for these new V players to adjust and for the team to gel . I liked what I saw yesterday. We lost a ton, so it isn’t gonna be overnight, but I was encouraged by what I saw.

Flashes open with a win at Upper. Saw the box score. Not sure of anything else. c5 can you help? For first game, Flashes look promising. Sloppy at times (only a few), and really solid at times, defensive rebounding looked suspect at times, but overall wasn't terrible, US focused on not letting Paxton get clean looks, also played him very physical, Dawson played like he's capable and we'll need more of the same as the year progresses, all the Sophomores played really well and will only get better as they get more Varsity experience, overall....they played better than I expected but US played alot better than I expected.....especially shooting from the perimeter.
