One by one...
River Valley over Upper. RV is still far from being a big-time threat in D3, but it sounds like they will maintain a respectful quality this year. In NW Ohio, it is very hard to find a D4/D5 school worse than Upper. RV by a few.
CF ought to win. They were down last year, but Fredericktown? Deliver for the MOAC, please.
Galion does a good job of scheduling non-con that challenges them and gives them wins. Some years, that's playing Mansfield and Wooster. Other years, it's beating Elgin. I do wonder what Galion fans think of the non-conference schedule. The Harbins usually work out for teams going 2-1 against small school opponents so long as they get a decent amount of W's.
No idea where to go here. Off of no knowledge, MV seems likely. No reason to think much differently on these teams than usual.
I have no idea where the Ontario v Lex game goes. Lex has their old coach back, I know he wasn't there long before, but he had decent results? I can't recall. I think he was on top during that 2016 season. That was an excellent game between Shelby and Lex. This one is the most coin-flippy game of the slate, in my opinion. I love this game because it gives Shelby some insight on two opponents.
Will Pleasant go back to their 7-3/8-2 ways. That is the question of this one. NU is a moderate test.
Shelby rolls. I enjoy the Madison game, but I wait for the day where both teams are competitive. By my recollection, there's only been 1-2 games this century where both teams were talented. If Madison goes 4-6, I consider this a victory for Harbin considerations.

RV should take Upper to the shed, they have been in a rough patch for a while
CF rolls, too physical, too many pieces back, I like them as a dark horse to win the MOAC
Galion, they should handle this pretty well, they get some lineman back which will help them break in a new QB.
No idea like shelbyrr about the MH and MV game... I'll just MV based on recent history
Honestly, I think Lex wins this one. Ontario lost a ton from last year and I think Gerhart will have them reinvigorated. I am hoping to catch this game this week.
Pleasant, based on what people on here post and the rumor that they tried to get out of the league, will likely struggle, and therefore logically you'd take NU
I saw Shelby and Norwalk scrimmage, Shelby seemed to struggle a bit on offense, which surprised me having a solid starting QB back and most of the receiving corps. I like Shelby to win this, but not with a running a clock.

Galion abruptly dropped Madison after they shellacked them 35-3 in 2014. They dropped Keystone after 2016. Lima Central Catholic is the toughest game they have scheduled since. They at least played Highland and Lexington last year although those games didn’t mean anything. Elgin appears to only be a 1 year contract. They will be looking for a week 1 opponent next year at home. They actually pick up Wynford beginning in 2023 for 2 years. It has been frustrating to say the least that they won’t schedule tougher opponents for the ooc part of the schedule, but I don’t have any say in that.

I don't think Galion will have any trouble with Elgin. Carey will be a different story this year, they are loaded and will beat the Tigers. Upper will be better than they have been, but Galion should win. Can't wait to see them play Wynford again.

I’m glad that Carey projects to win the N10 and if they beat Galion, that is great for them. I still think Lima Central Catholic > Carey. I would rather see Galion scheduling a stronger D4 or even a D5 which is encouraging that they scheduled Wynford.

My thoughts on this week:
RV should handle Upper easily in this one. I think RV is going to be solid and even if Upper is improved, it’s not enough to beat RV.
Clear Fork should handle Fredericktown easily. I expect CF will be back to contending for a league title, and Fredericktown is not what they were several years ago.
Galion should handle Elgin easily.
I think Harding will be better than they have been them last few years. I could see them winning this one.
On the other hand, I think Pleasant will be down. I’m going with NU here.
Shelby will defeat Madison. The Rams may be better, but not enough to knock off Shelby.
The Lexington/Ontario game may be the best one this week. Both teams are usually evenly matched. I think both teams will be down this year but I give Lex a slight edge.

I picked Lex, but wasn't expecting that type of result. Week 1 is always so hard to predict.

Everyone forgets Shelby lost most of their offensive and defensive lines to graduation plus the stud running back. This is not the same Shelby team as in the recent past. Look for the Whippets to edge Madison and struggle mightily against Lex next week, then get dumped by Bellevue and West Holmes. Shelby probably will win the MOAC, only because the league is really weak in foorball this year, IMO.

wow, Elgin is pretty good this year? Nothing to write home about. Galion is going to have a hard time winning very many games if the offense plays the way they did tonight. I underestimated the effect making the wide receiver a quarterback would have. They are extremely 1 dimensional right now.

Galion 15 Elgin 12
The thing that comes to mind first is that something has to be done differently involving how much practice time there is leading into the first game. Elgin was sloppy, the officiating was sloppy, Galion was extremely sloppy. I try hard not to criticize the officiating, but it wasn’t good either way. Galion was on the wrong side of most of it. Way too many holding calls, roughing the passer, they even extended an Elgin drive by jumping off side on a 4th and 4. The offense struggled to move the ball. The defense played well. Elgin broke 2 runs for their scores otherwise the defense stopped them and made plays when they needed to. This is even more impressive considering they lost 2 starters last night. They will need to figure some things out, or it’s going to be a really long night next week against Carey.
