That's too bad I have great respect for coach Comstock. Bones played for RV in summer league at BV a couple years ago when RV didn't have enough. Coach and his asst both would sit him beside them to let him know what they wanted him to do then sent him back in to do it. Up to that point I told him that was the most coaching in a game you have ever gotten so respect those guys. So before every game bones would find coach and his asst and give them a hug and shake their hands. Good luck coach.

All MOAC teams now bounced. Last three were small schools bounced by private institutions but hey....
The Wellington 80 Cardington-Lincoln 43
Hate to see the 8 Pirate seniors go out like that but they had a great season, just ran into a really good team tonight. Cool to win the league in your last season in that league.

not the best year for BBall in the Red...to put it mildly, and I hate to see the league fall apart but thats modern times, wait 5 years and they will be another new league. Too bad about Comstock at RV, REALLY a class act. My boys played against him a combined 7 years in HS, a solid Coach and a better person! I wish him the best!

Coach Brown is a really good Coach, always enjoyed playing against his Teams, reminds me of Gast with his intensity and focus!

Yep^ was gonna post that as well. He's commuted to play d3 ball there. I think he could play d2, but getting noticed isn't easy in basketball. I think he'll be really good at Marietta

Is the clear fork job open? They told him before the season was over that he wouldn't be back. I'm not sure if it changed after their tournament run. Maybe they decided to keep him, I haven't heard.

Who is they? Every coach is released at the end of their season. "Clear Fork basketball coach Steven Bechtel informed today he is being relieved of his duties at the end of the season... Pending board approval". This was reported by Jeff Swank on Facebook on February 17. Jeff Swank runs swankonsports.com, graduated from Clear Fork, and still lives in Bellville. I'm assuming the administrators are the ones that informed him he would not be back.... Maybe they changed their mind. I don't know.

Meeting is tonight and he is on the agenda as a recommendation for rehire. The agenda also reads the meeting has been moved from the schools media center to the commons area. My guess is they expect a crowd.

Really tired of these school boards thinking they have so much power. Whatever the AD and/or principal's recommendation is for a coach the vote from the school board should be unanimous agreement with that recommendation

That's the way it is in Galion anyways. Do you think the school board may not approve Bechtel to return?

Whatever the AD and/or principal's recommendation is for a coach the vote from the school board should be unanimous agreement with that recommendation It does seem like a waste of time for the AD to collect resumes, hold interviews, conduct a second interview, contact the best applicant, offer them the position and then have the BOE in a 30 minute meeting say NO.

Looks like the tournament run saved his job. They will definitely have a better record next year switching to the MOAC

Always negative, always putting down, never positive.
With wins, the number of home fans increase. With higher finishes in a league, the number of home fans increase. I bet Clear Fork will still play some of the closer OCC schools as non-league games, increasing the attendance for their non-league games.
