For many years this has been a trap game for me. Last meeting Purdue put a serious beat down on the scarlet and grey.
I looked up the history and since 2000, OSU is 8-5 and out of those 8 wins only three have been substantial blow out wins.
I like to call this game the “super trap” because Purdue seems to always play us at their best ever. I’m calling it early Buckeyes win, but it’s a tough battle and the score might look something around either a 34-28 or a 31-21.

Does Ohio State have a lawsuit against Perdue farms?

trap games are relative to the timing of your schedule. That being said,,,this is not a trap game for OSU. To be honest, I think Purdue is set to fail more so than OSU. The oddsmakers think so too.

Didn't Purdue have a bye week before OSU the last time they played? Even though they won, they had to just play Sparty and could not focus on OSU. I also don't think it is a trap game this year either.

Getting Wilson back is huge. A full game with Steele and good to see Julian Fleming starting to contribute a significant roll, after returning from injury. Time to turn loose our incredible group of receivers.

Blowout but the defense still has work to do. Purdue has moved the ball pretty easily on us all day. Bryson Shaw is guaranteed to give up at least one touchdown each game.

What this defense does is force osu to keep its 1st team offense on the field for most of the game risking needless injury to starters because defense is swiss cheese.

I cannot believe all the whining about the defense. We won by 4 td's. We do need to be incorporating some creative blitz packages, to get more pressure on the QB's. I know Purdue has an outstanding OL, of upper classmen, but we need to do a better job of bringing pressure.

We aren’t anywhere close to that. Remember what Alabama did to our defense in the national championship game last year? There’s a reason Nick Saban is so good, he demands more from his team and program.

You failed to mention our all-conference nose tackle Palalailoueia (sp.) missed the game, Trey Sermon litereally went out the first play of the game and two other starters were absence. We'll see just how 'good' Nick Saban is in a couple weeks vs. Georgia.

Every coach has to play with back ups during a season.

I’m pretty sure no one in their right minds needs to see how good he is as a college football coach. He’s proven it time and time again regardless of the result of the Georgia game.

Watching that Buckeye defense it is easy to say “they still need improving.” One thing I will say is Purdue’s passing offense is no slouch. You have Ball who just went over 1,000 yard receiving after today and a QB whose thrown for over 500 in one game and over 300 in 3 more. Do Buckeyes need to improve yes, did they face a QB who can throw yes.
I also noticed the vast, vast majority of the game buckeyes only rushed 3 or 4, putting everyone else in coverage. Purdue still did their thing, because O’Connell can throw.

Seemed odd, wouldn’t you want to get pressure on him instead of letting him just stand back there and pick you apart? It is interesting to see how Iowa and Michigan St struggled with Purdue but we were able to beat them by 28.

AM of Purdue was on fire . He had quick releases and that’s why we couldn’t get pressure. He might be the best QB we’ll see the rest of the way.

They probably realized that Purdue wasn’t stopping them, so just make them drive the length of the field instead of giving up big plays. Like the 2 big plays they gave up last week

Like the 2 big plays they gave up last week I'm in agreement, it looked like our defensive approach was controlled containment. Keeping everything in front of our DB's, which required accurate and consistent placement of the ball by opposing QB O'Connell. Certainly, the most impressive QB we have seen to date.

So far it looks like our defense is focused on stopping the big play but will give up short passing even though we are giving up an average of 11yds per catch.

I clearly said “some”, meaning not all. No one in their right mind wants to see LJ leave. Don’t say stupid sh*t.
