What's the prospects look like for 2023 at the QB position? because after Bakers 5th year option next year he is gone because he stinks.

Didn’t feel like waiting on this did you? Have a lot of frustration in me but also I've seen what I've need to see from Baker and he is what he is mediocre and inconsistent and this year he isn't even mediocre he is below average. People want to say "well he didn't give up 45 points" he also only scored 7 and the offense has looked lackluster the last 3 out of 4 weeks. Not scoring more than 20 outside of the Bengals game. So, as of late there has been more cause for concern with the O than the D and I do believe Baker plays a huge role in the offensive struggles because he just isn't the guy you can rely on to make the plays needed. No run game = Baker being bad this is a passing league that's how you win big games and get to SBs. Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt can't do it all themselves.

I wanted Josh Allen (Buffalo) in that draft, I was ticked off when the Browns took Mayfield. Josh Allen put Wyoming on the college football map, and took them to a nice bowl game, That year. I thought that was much better accomplishment than an over rated Baker Mayfield at Oklahoma. I do realize it's not all his fault the Browns are good, And very bad. Baker Mayfield is still only a developmental league below average QB, Nothing more than that.

Baker is a lot of the problem those two great components of this offense cover up his flaws at times.

When Baker got hurt he should’ve immediately had it taken care of and then rehab and come back 100%. Since he chose not to go that route he’s made it worse for not only his injury but a better chance for a big pay day. I wouldn’t even think of playing him the rest of this season. Just ride out the rest of the season with Keenum and get a top D lineman or WR in the next draft.

I’m still disappointed in that.

We (Browns) Need a QB that has 4 quarter stamina, And not a 2 qtr. Gimp (Mayfield)

What's the prospects look like for 2023 at the QB position? because after Bakers 5th year option next year he is gone because he stinks. None better than Baker Mayfield this year. IF you want to get a potential "franchise QB" in the draft, the only way is to have the worst record in the NFL the same year there's one in the draft. OR trade up by trading your high 1st round pick and Miles Garrett. One must out bid others looking for that magical "franchise QB". You have a better chance by taking an obscure QB in the 5th or 6th round every year in hopes of finding the next Tom Brady. A better "team" idea is to build a very good offense and defense through the draft and free agency, then give a big contract to a proven veteran free agent QB. Anything else is pie in the sky hopefulness. Do some research and find how often the first QB taken in the draft has won a Super Bowl.

Do some research and find how often the first QB taken in the draft has won a Super Bowl. Well said. Look at New England. They drafter Drew Bledsoe number 1 in 1993 and Tom Brady in the 6th round in 2000. Brady took over for Bledsoe during that 01 season and we all know how that worked out.
