Tyleik Williams # 91 Did he play? Only 2 Michigan punts Cannot recall a single 3 and out . Our defense did not show up. The one interception was about the only series they won.

Michigan scored on every one of their second half possessions. That’s just terrible defense.

Michigan had only 8 3rd down plays all game .... just 8 3rd downs ... and converted 5. That pretty much sums up this azz kicking.

My thoughts.
Michigan out played Ohio State in all 3 phases. The common denominator? Every Michigan player wanted it more. After 15 years they couldn't take it any more. After 15 years Ohio State thought it should be easy.
Ohio State played 2 good teams this year. Against both they could not stop the run. Every defensive player was exposed. There is not one player on defense that should consider leaving for the NFL after this year unless they've used their 6 years of eligibility. This game really hurt their draft stock. The LBs are still a problem, they were as much to blame as the D-linemen.
The 2 losses could set Ohio State recruiting back a few years, unless Ohio State wins a National Title next year. As it looks like Michigan will get to the Title game this year.
As poorly as most of the run plays were blocked, no offensive linemen should leave for the NFL unless they've used all of their 6 years. Petite-Frere was really exposed. He gave up 3 sacks and had multiple penalties pissing his pants worrying about their D-Ends.
The score could have been much worse, if not for 2 of the most unbelievable catchers you will ever see at this level or the next.
Will someone PLEASE make Julian Fleming have his eyesight checked. Three muffed kickoff returns in his only 2 games as a returner? There is a major complication somewhere.
What is really disgusting. After this game, the SEC will now have another QB winning the Heisman Trophy.
The worst thing? The Ohio State coaches were outcoached by a bunch of newbies. As I look back, the game was over in the 1st quarter when Ohio State disdained the run on 2nd down at the 3 yard line and had to settle for a Field Goal after 2 incomplete passes.

scUM won today, beat osu all phases But Hairball and scUM act like they've dominated osu for years. 1-15 is quite a record. Talk now Jimmy, Buckeyes will be back and the "guy on third" will own you once again

I could not for the life of understand the logic of not running it 3 more times if necessary at the goal line. We had them on their heels and ready to make a statement.
First drive in 2nd half just as puzzling. We had momentum throwing 5-7 yard passes at will . Yet we run it on 3rd and 3. That’s the moment I felt we were in trouble.
Both were game / momentum changers .

I just wish these Networks would stop all this Xichigan praise, That they beat the world. They finally beat a Mediocre Ohio State team. The Wolverweasels still lost to Little Brother, While the Buckeyes hammered them.

UM vs CIN as the 2 and 3 seeds? I’d be thrilled but I doubt the committee puts cincy any higher than four. They don’t want them in to begin with.

Y'all do realize the Committee is going to leave Cincy completely out come next Sunday right? 1. Bama 2. Georgia 3. Michigan 4. Oklahoma State 5. Cincy 6. Notre Dame
Now, had ND lost to anyone other than Cincy then ND would be in over Oklahoma St. This is why the invitational is a joke.

Not looking for excuses,,,but I really wonder what caused all the false starts? Didn't cost us the game but it crippled us all game long on offense. Have heard Stroud lost his voice due to illness.

It would totally be a Michigan thing to do and lose next Saturday night to Iowa

I feel like Georgia has solidified their position as the #1. What supports your contention. They have been playing lowly, unranked teams. I'm guessing they will retain their #1 ranking for the moment. But an impressive performance today by the Buckeyes and good showing in the B1G championship, coupled with a less than convincing win over Bama. The #1 slot is up for grabs. Losing a position typically comes down to what have you done wrong. They have done nothing wrong in my eyes. Playing weaker teams and they have dominated them as Bama has done in the past and retained the top spot.

Every defensive coach and player needs to look itself in the mirror this off-season and figure out how you’re going to be better next year. And I remember a few weeks ago people on here got mad at me when I said our defense needs to be better. Lol all of you that questioned that can kiss my ***. Looking at stats the Buckeyes are ranked 46th in defense YDs/Gm. This was before this final game. The point being that the defense has not been great all season and yesterdays opponent is the top rushing offense we have seen this season as well as a top 10 passing defense. Which is what we struggles with in the 20 degree snow flurries.

As disappointing the upset loss was, got to give credit to Michigan for a great game plan and executing it as well as they did.
One fact that was revealed afterwards, C.J. Stroud had been battling an illness all week and virtually lost his voice. C.J. said; in spite of his attempts to shout out the snap count, what was actually coming out of his mouth was not very audible. Which explains all the false starts in front of 111,000 screaming fans. Of course, that was merely one element in a day of disappointing and subpar performance from the Buckeyes. Time for them to put things in perspective, regroup and refocus. Expectations, have now been greatly diminished and it will be hard to accept the fact that in one day, moved from the hottest commodity in college football to an 'also ran' status.
Everyone in the Buckeye Nation will be looking to Ryan Day for direction, following such a crushing defeat. Remember, this is his one and only Big Ten defeat, but unfortunately, at the worst moment and on the biggest stage.

Unless Iowa can find a way to run on Michigan they will go down hard Saturday. Iowa is also less fearsome outside the confines of Kinnick stadium. If they don’t have a silent count that’s on Day as well. I also don’t think they imagined the big house could get that loud. That place was deafening in the second half yesterday

I wouldn't make the assumption that they didn't utilize some form of silent count. I'm sure that is incorporated in their practice regimen. Fact is, silent counts are used in a situational capacity, not every snap, all game long, college or pro.

Michigan finally hired competent assistant coaches. It’s even Steven now..
After reading more from people who know,,, it was not our coaching staffs finest hour. No critical adjustments that were needed to keep us in the game. Learn from it and move on.

There were no adjustments. We were begging the D to just play man on their WRs and load the box ala VA Tech vs JT Barrett in 2014 but they kept lining up base and getting the ball shoved down their throat. At some point you HAVE to sell out against the run. If they go Bombs over Baghdad well so be it.
Just a disappointing performance but we weren't going to beat UM every year forever. Everything lined up for them to get a big home win and they did. We basically played 2 good teams this year and BOF A DEM ran the ball down our throat with no resistance. That stings a bit and is a bit worrisome moving forward. I have been a vocal critic of Urbs but one thing about his teams they were mostly gd tough.

10-1 records is about where the comparisons should stop. Michigan is inferior on the sidelines and the field. Should have stayed in retirement old friend.

From a news report:
Michigan offensive coordinator Josh Gattis called out the toughness of Ohio State two days following his team’s 42-27 upset of the Buckeyes. Appearing on the “Inside Michigan Football” radio show on Monday night, he said the Wolverines were able to outmuscle them at the line of scrimmage, a key factor in prevailing in The Game for the first time since 2011 and ending the Buckeyes’ eight-game winning streak in the series.
“They’re a good team,” Gattis said, as his comments were transcribed by the Detroit News. “They're a finesse team, they're not a tough team. And we knew that going into the game that we can out-physical them, we can out-tough and that was gonna be the key to the game, and that's what we prepared for all year long.”
Gattis said the Wolverines followed a script laid out by Oregon when it upset the Buckeyes in a non-conference game in September. The Ducks then handled Ohio State in the trenches, running for 269 yards. “Oregon was the most physical team on the field,” Gattis said. “That's the way they lost, and we committed to that recipe, and it paid off.” Gattis also pointed to the toughness of Michigan’s defensive line, “just being able to smash them however we could,” as it held the Buckeyes to 64 yards on the ground.
I hate to say it, but Gattis is right. And correcting that is Ryan Day's Job #1.
