The greatest nugget from Ryan Day "I'm pass happy and think it's always going to be 75 and sunny in November so instead of fixing the run game in September I like to try to throw for 600 yards a game in September. By doing that the run game will be non-existent vs good teams in November when it's cold and snowy out, by becoming one dimensional I help Michigan and make the OSU/Michigan rivalry more competitive. Why beat Michigan every time like Tressel and Urban, it's more fun to lose like Cooper did. That's exciting." Lies lies and more lies

Ya'll remember me nailing the fact that Joe "Heisman and National Champ" Burrow was better than noodle arm JT Barrett back in the day. Well I'm all over this Ryan Day fraudster.
This is year 4 of Ryan Day and he has 1 win vs Michigan. Year 4, 1 win. And his 1 win was with 100% Urban Meyer recruits. Ryan Day is not Urban Meyer Ryan Day is not Jim Tressel Ryan day is Jon "2-11-1" Cooper Year 4 of the Ryan Day regime and 1 win vs Michigan with the lone win being with 100% Urban Meyer recruits. Ryan Day even lost to Oregon who had a 9 am start time for themselves on the road. Ryan Day gets a huge thumbs down.

Such a soft spoken gentleman he was. He had a promising career ahead of him. So devastating. Prayers for his young wife and son and his entire family.

The argument for Fickell over Day is beyond irrational.
Fick had better than average defenses at OSU. When given the reins in 2011 as head coach --very average once again. Nothing stood out that screamed he was a great coach. The head to head matchup when he was at UC vs OSU---42-0 OSU. As head coach at UC is 48-15 As head coach at OSU is 6-7 Combined 54-22. One great season at UC followed up with a no show performance in the CFB. The debate of him over DaY ??--- it's not worth arguing about.

Dwayne Haskins changed the QB posiition at OSU. I think that will be the thing that lives on in my brain. He changed it in the 3rd quarter vs MICH. Making Pro style QB passes that JT couldn't. Enter Justin Fields and then CJ Stroud,,,and more than likely Devin Brown in 2023(stud).
He'll be very warmly remembered as a teamate, leader and transormative QB at OSU.
RIP #7 Simba

In the wake of this horrendous, heartbreaking trajedy, the inevitable question immediately arises and lingers.....WHY?
The first thing that caught my attention, is the fact that there is a criminal investigation underway. (not worded in those exact terms). I might be reading into this more than it might be. Perhaps such an investigation is routine procedure in an accident of this nature. I get the impression it seems to be pointed toward the dump truck driver. On the other hand, it may show that Dwayne didn't adhere to pedestrian safety protocol, which includes using designated crosswalks and following and adhering to the 'walk', 'don't walk' signals.
Florida has the highest pedestrian fatality rate in the nation, year in and year out, for a reason. They have the highest tourist rate of any state and the great weather, creates more foot traffic.

Does that have anything to do with the number or retirement resorts they have? I seriously doubt it, as the large share of casualties are younger in age. Younger people tend to be risk takers, walking in and around traffic.

They said on the TV news this morning, He ran out of gas on Interstate 95, He then ran across some lanes, Jumped over the concrete barrier, Then was he hit trying to run across the other side of the Interstate lanes. I doubt if there's any crosswalks on Interstate highways.

I doubt if there's any crosswalks on Interstate highways. Thanks for the explainable details. So sad his simple dilemma ended in such tragic circumstances. He could have called anyone of his team mates, coaches or even a garage, to bring a container of gas and we wouldn't be discussing this right now. Very sad......so senseless.

I ran out of gas once in my life, but it was on a two lane neighborhood street one block from my home.

My 650 Triumph Tiger cycle...cough...cough....silence My Montgomery Wards Riverside moped....cough....cough....silence My 55 Chevy Belaire convertible....cough....cough....silence Estimating how far the needle will progress below 'E' is not an exact science. I got wiser as I got older and kept things topped off.

Everybody who isn't a giant uptight pu55y has run out of gas at least once and had to highway hoof it. My old ford escort had a broken gauge and i used to make the walk of shame half a dozen times a year. What a gd tragedy. Dwayne was doing what prob anyone else would do and was just in the wrong spot. I am pretty callous to dudes dying but this has me a bit shook. Dealt with Dwayne a few times and he was one of those kids who is smiling before he talks to you. He was a misfit for an east coaster because he was west coast relaxed and laid back as anyone I've ever come into contact with. Just awful.

Will the best D-line start for Ohio State against Notre Dame, which includes 3 Sophomores, or will upper classmen start? To keep them from entering The Portal and destroying Ohio State's great depth in the D-line room. THE strength of Knowles' new defense.

Also, just for the record, Urban had some of the worst losses any OSU head coach has ever had... VT at home. Sparty at home with a backup QB starting against us (and for us sort of after undefeated 12 gauge was benched for Scottie Graham 2.0). Bad Iowa loss. Bad Purdue loss at their place and a Kenny Guiton bail out (after Urbs treated Kenny like 5hit and bullied the hell out of him) away from a second bad Purdue loss at home. The gd boilermaker was literally blowing it's whistle outside the Shoe because they thought they had won the game in one of the most surreal moments of my life. Bad loss to OKL at home we weren't even competitive.
Urbs only title came with Tressel's QB, if we wanna play that game. Throwing bombs to a WR Urbs didn't recruit. Then Urban benched Tressel's undefeated QB so JT Barrett could lose. Again. And again. Because JT losing was better than Cardale ALMOST losing. That was unbearable.

How do you keep a kid like Kye Stokes off the field as a true freshman? He has been killing it in practice and was a one man highlight film in the spring game. He is gonna be a great DB, perhaps right out of the gate. Instinct, reaction and knowledge of field presence, is difficult to instill and coach, in rare instances it is simply there.

Listening to ESPN radio, where they were discussing the top 100 running backs of the past 60 years. There was some question to Archie Griffin being listed #2 all-time, because he only scored 4 TD's his Sr. season. What was not mentioned, was the obvious answer and no-brainer.....Pete Johnson (who led the nation in TD's scored that year) Arch would get the Buckeyes in scoring position and PJ finished the job.

Ohio State picked up a huge commitment yesterday from 2024 #1 player Dylan Raiola. What a great start to that class. Day is turning Ohio State into QBU.

This was a huge get for Ryan Day. The best receivers will want to team up with him. He stands and moves around in the pocket with the cool confidence of an experienced college QB, already. Think we are going to enjoy the new chapter of OSU QB's.

Since Day took over as HC in 2019 he has signed (6) 5* QBs. Or about (1) every seven months.
Get some.

No excitement or interest whatsoever, till the ink is dry? I guess you're a prenup kind of guy, that sees everything in black and white.
I consider myself a pretty good judge of character and the recruits that bounce around to the highest bidders, I don't want on my team. Quinn Ewers had that written all over him from day one. Others project a sincere desire to be a Buckeye, with no qualms and Dylan Raiola possesses those qualities.

Ewers should not have been coming into the picture until this fall and it may have worked out had that been the case. The NIL changed that and gave him the chance to earn major money if he left high school early, so he did. This played a role in him changing from OSU. IMO
