If the Buckeyes expect to contend for a NC, that defense has to improve. Not like no one already knew that lol. Jimmy the Greek, is that you?

I still can't believe we are in year 4 of Ryan Day and he only has 1 win vs Michigan. How long before Buckeye Nation wakes up and realizes how pathetic that is?

He's even winless against them at the Horseshoe
He also hasn't played them at the Horseshoe

I agree, he should have three and counting.....damn Covid! 34-4 in his young career at Ohio State, nobody not named Nick Saban comes close.

Marcus Freeman has been killing it on the recruiting trail and ND has once again, jumped ahead of Ohio State and taken over the top spot of the recruiting rankings. ND received commitments from two 4* recruits over the weekend. But, I don't think it will last long, because the Buckeyes are expecting several commitments in the coming days or weeks.
Meanwhile Jim Harbaugh is drowning in mediocrity this recruiting year, with zero 5*, 5 four stars and 6 three stars, while languishing in 36th place. A disaster/bust so far for the Wolverines.
With James Franklin having a banner recruiting year and Mel Tucker of MSU enjoying relative success as well, think Harbaugh might be looking at the NFL again, sometime soon.

It's year 4 of Ryan "Not a real Buckeye" Day and he only has 1 win vs Michigan and that win was with 100% Urban Meyer recruits. Day has yet to beat Michigan with a single one of his recruits and we are in year 4. Yikes. Even John Cooper thinks this guy doesn't have a clue about the OSU/UM rivalry.

ND received (2) verbals to retake the recruiting lead. Ohio State quickly answered with the signing of an elite 4* TE to take the top spot again. Most all of the recruits the Buckeyes are seeking from this point forward are 4*, so the question that will determine who gets the crown, is how big will the various signing classes be this year. Alabama, sitting at #12 at the moment, is notorious for over-signing players. For most schools those practices would eventually work against them and come back to bite them in future years, but not Alabama....not yet. I understand the Buckeyes will be signing 25-27 this year.
2023 Recruiting Rankings
1 Ohio State 286.19
2 Notre Dame 285.34
3 Penn State 260.32
4 Clemson 260.28
5 Texas 260.24
6 Georgia 250.54
7 Tennessee 249.91
8 LSU 244.78
9 Miami 243.68
10 Oklahoma 240.40

Doesn’t matter where Alabama is right now, at the very end they’ll still probably end up being top 3. A lot of top Buckeye targets are currently leaning toward Alabama too.

And....a lot of lot of the Tide's top targets are leaning toward the Buckeye's as well. The fact the Buckeyes are sitting on top of the recruiting world, creates strong value in the dwindling, remaining '23 recruiting season. The elite prospects wish to play on the big stage with a class of elite athletes. The ball is rolling down the hill for this recruiting class and Ryan Day and his staff know quite well, how to use it to full advantage.

The defense was dealt a major blow, when 5* LB Tackett Curtis, who was consideed a 100% OSU lean, chose Southern Cal. The other LB that was at the top of the Buckeyes list also chose elsewhere, as Troy Bowles went with Georgia, but much less of a surprise. So, the Buckeyes are sitting with zero LB commits for '23.

What's up with 247, suddenly downgrading Carnell Tate from a 5* to a 4* with no explanation? Everybody, every recruiting service, I mean 100% had Tate rated and recognized as a 5.

I seriously don't think so. This is 247, that depends on consistently, accurate and reliable information. Anything less, they would lose viewership.

Richard Young committed to Alabama today. That’s 3 5* recruits they’ve landed just this week alone.

This isn’t aging well Add to Ohio States dwindling recruiting success, with their batting average taking a serious nose dive the past ten days, they are most likely losing a high 4* CB from Florida, one of their first major commits. Alabama is always a strong finisher and this year is no exception. We need some surprises....positive ones.

Mistakes were made at the June 24-26 recruiting weekend turned this recruiting. Im confident Pantoni and Day will correct it. Doesn’t hurt as bad to have one bad cycle now with the transfer portal

This isn’t even a bad class though, they’re still ranked top 5 and had a great class last year too.

From what I’m told they just had too many kids in. Not enough one-on-one time with Day and the position coaches. The vibe wasn’t right with this group. Some kids are just different. Really just takes one kid to say something sucks

There’s also some worries of Ty Lockwood decommitting, possibly flipping to Alabama.

Hard to tell kids they can't come for an official visit when it works best for them, unless you only let the 5 Stars take officials on a specific day.
