Las Vegas is a disaster waiting to happen. Lake Meade, the primary source of water for this entertainment/gambling mecca, has dropped 50' and is on course to eventually dry up, hence the hydroelectic grid, produced by Boulder Dam. The entire S/W region of the U.S. will be thrust into a state of emergency, the likes of which, we have never seen before. The U.S. government and this administration has played no leadership role, in resolving this monumental crisis. Those in the know, understand there are means and ways to resolve this issue, like diverting Mississippi waters to the Colorado River, or desalinization from the Gulf of Mexico (much like Georgia tapping into the Atlantic waters and building a pipeline to serve the greater Atlanta area} Just DO NOT send them water from the Great Lakes. There’s a compact between the Great Lakes states and two Canadian provinces that prevents this. The involvement of the Canadian provinces makes any type of carve out next to impossible.

The involvement of the Canadian provinces makes any type of carve out next to impossible. In 2005, the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors & Premiers signed the Great Lakes—St. Lawrence River Basin Sustainable Water Resources Agreement. At the same time, the Governors endorsed the companion Great Lakes—St. Lawrence River Basin Water Resources Compact which became law in 2008.

I don't trust Canada.
I own a summer home on Lake Michigan that was in danger of falling into the Lake caused by bad erosion the last several years, due to record high water levels of the Great Lakes. The US States bordering on the Great Lakes and Canada agreed to steps to lower these all time high levels in the Great Lakes. Canada had stopped the flow of water out of Lake Superior into Hudson Bay, to keep the level of Lake Superior high, as that made their hydro electric plants run more efficiently. In the agreement Canada said they would allow more water to flow out of Lake Superior into Hudson Bay. They reneged on their promise and many people lost their homes. I saved mine by spending $50K to have a wall constructed on the beach.

I won't elaborate other than how shabbily American sportsmen (fishermen and game hunters) were treated by Canadian authorities the past 30 years. I had a group of buddies that took yearly fishing trips to Canada for many years, but we eventually said enough was enough and changed our destination to the upper peninsula of Michigan, as a result. This was not a mere isolated situation, talking to so many other groups of sportsmen, that received the same treatment and much like us, readjusted their destination.

Looking like Notre Dame will stay independent. According to Dennis Dodd they are negotiating a $75 million a year deal with NBC. Their current contract with NBC ends in 2025

Their current contract with NBC ends in 2025 Nobody has suggested thus far, there was any premise or expectations of them ending their NBC deal, even if they elect to join a conference. That doesn't necessarily mean they won't join the B1G, but if it does, screw them and turn to getting Washington & Oregon in the fold.

I read the media report several times and the statement 'to remain independent' was not attributed to any Notre Dame official, but rather added into the press story line by story writers. One thing that keeps me observing this from an objective viewpoint is, Big Ten officials and ND officials have been amazingly tight lipped, not a peep. I suspect there may be private discussions going on, otherwise there would be some form of official press release from one of the two parties by now. Initially, after the USC/UCLA announcement the Big Ten said unofficially they would withold all expansion talk till they receive a final decision from ND, suggests there has been communication and some form of dialogue going on. Fact is, the media and everybody else, outside of the B1G administratin and ND know no more than they knew 3 weeks ago. One thing that I caution anyone on, never take a story such as this at face value.

Notre Dame signed a new deal with NBC and will remain independent. The new deal pays Notre Dane $60 million annually. They also get $15 mill from the ACC. So basically they are leaving $25 a year in the table to stay independent instead of joining the Big 10. If only someone had reported that a month ago 😂

Casually talked to a young lad out here in LA, and said USC/UCLA going to B1G is "weird AF."
Don't shoot the messenger

With ND out of the equation, would love to see Oregon & Washington added soon and get them incorporated into the 24-25 season scheduling.
