I could not imagine that the Ontario administration would value a parent petition but I could be wrong after hearing the stories from one of their staff members about parents involved in Ontario swimming and cross country. Those petition letters have worked before, to my surprise. Wrong again. No parent is involved in cross country. The only teacher ever to be a coach in swimming was in 1960, when the indoor pool opened and they recruited Harding's swim coach. As a matter of fact my REAL sources tell me there's only been "papers" floated once in the past 20 years and it was rejected in kind. Your sources are getting worse and worse. You need to enlist me as your source

If I counted correctly the MOAC has had 11 teams win district titles in 32 seasons. IMO, that is a good volume for a league. Spreading that out over 17 teams in that time does make this easier since most leagues have 7-10 teams in them.

With Clear Fork, the 3 Richland County schools now in the MOAC made it at least to the District finals 15 times since 1990

The visual on the MOAC district finalists is excellent.
The MOAC seems to be a league where the teams are disparate come tourney time. Multiple divisions and regions. This must hurt the numbers.
In the SBC area, multiple teams get a shot at the same district tournament. You have friendly fire, but you get teams advancing due to it. Take this in context of some central district teams who send one of out 10, 20, or 30 and the numbers are more acceptable.
Though the MOAC has, in clear evidence of what has been posted, definitely had a weak stretch as of late.

Stover is indeed out as Galion coach, in at Highland.
It’s a head scratcher for the immediate future as Galion is a better team than highland next year. But the future of highland surely can be better than what Galion’s will be.

Galion is on the correct path and expectations are good for next season. They graduate 7 seniors but bring back 4 juniors and a soph that all saw a large amount of time last season and most are starters.
Any other news in the MOAC?

Supposably the parents of former Shelby kids are the driving his dismissal. I hear the place is a mess. Girls basketball head coach is sabotaged by his jv coach, whose husband is on school board, then she gets hired as head coach. Softball coach is looking to get out because of crazy parent. Baseball coach may not last the season. Cross Country coach almost not renewed because a helicopter parent did agree with her. Signs around town posted about firing the football coach. And now the basketball coach for the boys is being run out by parents.

Anyone from Ontario able to elaborate? I never did catch why the girls bball coach was let go mid-season. Just seems a little wild to me that this has all started in the last few years at Ontario? Or has it always been this way and Balogh was just impervious due to his reputation. I gotta say that down in Central Ohio it doesn’t matter at all what the history is. Several 20+ year coaches with massive success have been let go out of nowhere these last couple seasons.

It has become normal for schools to give into the mob then stand and defend the individual.
