How serious is the Pirate starting QB injury?

Hopefully he isn't too hurt, but I still think I'll take Perkins in a very similar style game. Pirates 20-7. I think their line is much bigger than Oak Harbor's.

Pirates were lethargic all night. Couldn't do anything with the run game. Time for a gut check.

Embarrassing, especially for homecoming, but not completely a surprise. Sloppy and slow play sounds like the culprit in all of their losses so far, even if this game was the only "should-win" of the bunch. Where's the discipline?

The team was flat. That's on Ziegler. I'm also tired of hearing his "we made mistakes, we have to get better" comment EVERY week. When are you gonna "get better"? In the off season? You're 8 games into the season. Back up QB played well, so it's not on him. Oak Harbor's O and D lines outplayed the Pirates. The Pirate secondary also must have stayed home, because OH threw the ball all over them. The only way the Pirates are going to the playoffs is if they buy a ticket at the gate.

This was a should-win that they didn't. Those of us who predicted hard times after their sluggish showing at Sandusky were perhaps right, after all. You may not have Dale Irby talent waiting in the stables, but when you're one of the big boys in the last year of the SBC as we know it, you can't be dropping a homecoming game to a 2-win team. It looks like it's Perkins' turn to slide on HS FB Chutes and Ladders.

greenman - First of all, Oak Harbor is a 4 win team now (and was a 3 win team when they started the game against Perkins) not a two win team.
Also, look at Oak Harbor's 4 losses.
Huron - I still believe they are better than their record but it is what it is. Clyde - Clyde is obviously a bigger team and a much better team and quality playoff team Genoa - Another potential playoff team. Edison - 7-1.
I'd say that with the exception of the Huron game, their schedule of games they've lost against is pretty tough. They beat the teams they should beat and lose to the ones you'd expect them to. Again, exception to the rule is that they also beat Eastwood.

I can't believe that people in Oak Harbor are ok with this and actually make these types of excuses for the football program. I heard this for 6 years from Mike May. He justifies his mediocre record by saying that we may have lost but we lost to playoff teams. Who cares! You still lost. Beat the good teams and then let's talk. It's not ok to just keep losing and saying that we lost to playoff teams. Terrible! The bar has been set so low that we expect to lose to the good teams.

Outsider, OHSN will not hear anything negative about OH football when you're as close to may and grahl as he is. He also predicted a few years ago that the flag football program would have a positive effect on varsity ball. Nope, sorry that just did not happen and I called that as well. OH is now a soccer power dammit and that's all that matters !!

Soccer??? Is that the silly playground game where they run around in shorts, kicking a ball back and forth, while their parents PRETEND to be excited about it all??? I've been more entertained watching paint dry.
