Wisconsin's O is pretty anemic. Their D will provide pressure no doubt but OSU is just too talented all around. OSU by 20,

Will Urban make a common opponent score as it appeared Harbaugh did last weekend? Just curious, since meetchicken struggled mightily with that Wisconsin defense... I have my own concerns since Wisconsin has been one of "those teams" that can give the Buckeyes fits since the Woody days. Many years ago, I was at a former Buckeye's wedding, which fell on the day of the Wisconsin game, and most of us there.... him included, were in the kitchen watching the game on the little black and white while OSU barely managed to eke out a tie, 14-14, that day in 1993. Glory be to John Cooper...

Don't let yourself get caught in the 'comparing scores' trap.
I talked to a friend that follows Whisky very closely, said Urban made every attempt at keeping the score down. It is noted, both Michigan and Ohio State field exceptional teams and there have been comparisons that give similarities.
Unquestionably, Ohio State and Michigan have exceptional defenses, but team speed possessed by the buckeyes on both sides of the ball is a huge separator.
In the 14-7 struggle, Michigan played into the strength of the Whisky D, with their pro-style QB and power I formations. Running the ball was difficult, but the Wisconsin secondary was exposed, especially over the middle, as Michigan was able to amass 29-32 for 219 yds. Wisconsin doesn't do anything fancy offensively, as their OL was weakened with the loss of 2 offensive lineman for the season and starting a green, freshman QB, contributes greatly to the lackluster offense. When they do throw, they like to go deep. They had M defenders beat on deep routes several times during the course of the game, but was off the hands.
Facing the Buckeyes, the Wisconsin defense is presented with a greater challenge. The big difference will be the elusiveness and mobility of J.T. Barret, coupled with the fact OSU has much more speed and versatility in their offense. Getting the Badger defense back on their heels and thinking hard is imperative.
The key of the game is gong to be third down efficiency as I see it. A game of this magnitude, on the national stage and in that loud and raucous atmosphere, it is going to be a huge factor in this game for both teams. If the Buckeyes can execute successfully on third down situations, this game won't be close. Despite Michigan enjoying a huge advantage in most statistical categories such as total yds. and time of possession, the game became a a 'nail biter' due to their lack of 3rd down execution, where they were a paltry 3-15. Add to that, Wisky was very similar with only 4-15 on those critical situations.
Barring any game changing turnovers and a decent effort on 3rd down situations, this game should be all Buckeyes.

The backup QB for Oklahoma said Ohio State had a basic defense. A Wisconsin Defensive coach said Ohio State has a basic offense.

That fumble rule has to be the dumbest rule ever made in NCAA history... you keep a fumble because your touched the ball with your toe because your out... cost us 7 points..

It will be interesting to see the defensive halftime adjustments by Schiano and Fickle. Will we see some zone second half, to counter the crossing patterns and misdirections that have caught this aggressive defense off guard? The young Whisky QB has handled the OSU pressure extremely well so far. Big plays by the tight ends has been very effective so far.

As I suspected, Buckeyes utilizing zone coverage 2nd half. It's effective so far in containing the Badgers and instrumental in the read by Conley and the Interception. Buckeyes are in business and have the momentum going into the 4th quarter.

Something seldom seen by Buckeye fans.....overtime.
A bit nervous, the way Wisconsin's offensive line has taken command up front. This should be a good one!

Way to grind out a W in a hostile environment! Now 20-0 in true road games under Meyer, pretty damn impressive.
And that's 2 straight overtime wins by the Buckeyes in trips to Camp Randall

A great overtime drama on nationwide tv, good for the conference.
I think what we saw tonight was good halftime adjustment by a great coaching staff.
Big turnaround on both sides of the ball second half.
Urban would tell us this game had all the hallmarks that are going to help his team of youngsters, continue their maturing process.
Good to see Jamarco Jones back on the field after he went limping off earlier.

Buckeyes have won 31 of their last 32 games. Urban is 56-4(.933) at tOSU.
Saban is 56-6(.903) during the that same period

Now that the game is over... anyone else think some of the holding calls were a little ticky-tack and see others that they missed that were kind of blatant..and not just against OSU... but both ways??? I didn't want to sound like spoiled grapes when OSU was losing, but I noticed it in the first half a lot and more so to OSU's detriment, but I was more focused on them at that point as well. I tried to start watching it both ways in the second half and it seemed we had not the best reffing crew in the B1G.

stats say we only had 4 penalties for 40 yds but it sure seemed like more. 15 of those yds were on Urban IIRC

The weirdest penalty I have seen in many years, was the one thrown against Urban Meyer. The sideline official flailed his arms out and backhanded Urban in the face, who was just standing with his arms folded, completely within his designated coaches box. The official immediately reached into his back pocket and tossed his flag and assessed 15 yards against Ohio State. Urban continues to stand there, completely speechless and a look of absolute puzzlement. This same ref threw a flag against Meyer shortly after the start of the game.

I know that I'm glad they called that holding penalty on Wisc on their last possession near mid- field of regulation. They were driving on us and a game winning FG attempt was looking more and more likely. But I agree, I saw lots of holding going on.
I was impressed with 3-4 defenders on Wisc. Cigy and Watt especially. I was disappointed with WR Terry M'Clauren, dropped 2-3 long balls that JT put right there. Not an especially good performance all around by OSU imo. You'll have a game like that sometimes,,,The Great teams find a way to win even though maybe your A game was missing.

He was not in the coaches/players box....looked to me like he was clearly standing in the white area. That large white area is the sole domain of the officials, and any coach or player on the sideline who comes in contact with an official in that area will get flagged (first offense = warning, any further offenses = 15 yard penalty.....in high school it goes: warning, 5 yard penalty, 15 yard penalty)

Wiscy's linebackers and safeties were very impressive in attacking our line. That was a good team. Too bad their quarterback's arm was about 1/5th the strength of Colt McCoy's.
Young Buckeyes learning on the fly. Also impressive. Same Bat time next week, different Bat channel. Fight the White out with an Amber Alert out.

Doubt if it made the B1G look any better than on national TV, half the country was already in bed by halftime like me. The older I've gotten, The 8:00 kickoffs are too late for me. I did wake up at the end of regulation, Saw it was going to overtime, shut the tv off went back to bed, figuring the Buckeyes would lose. I am preparing myself for the disappointment when that does happen, and we're not in the playoff, I'm expecting it to happen, We've looked lethargic the past 2 weeks.

In H.S. there is merely two white has-marks the coaches have to stay between, with no designation otherwise. Nonetheless, as the announcers mentioned, a rare call. Urban fully understood the rules and offered no resistance or reaction. Meyer is a veteran coach. whom I'm sure hes has invaded the area on a regular basis, with few warnings.r

The bars and pubs across the country are rocking by the 8pm kickoff time.
The O.T. goal line stand to win the game was impressive.

More important, to get to OT was. Ohio State Defense only allowing 11 rushing yards in the 3rd quarter AND Noah Brown's very impressive TD catch.

Which there is no warning for. These instances prove that Ohio State has a **** poor "getback" coach

It is easy to solve your issue with not being able to stay as late as you've gotten older for 8:00 games. DO NOT get up up so early on weekends.
