The Mets end with 101 wins and no division title or playoff series win to show for it.... a tough scene for the Mets. Gimenez and Rosario are also playing in the ALDS while Francisco Lindor sits at home. Guardians made out just fine in that trade.

Guards have won all the trades. Traded Clevinger to the padres and got Cal Quantril who went 15-5, josh Naylor who had 20 HRs 70 RBIs, and Owen Miller who’s been solid, and Hedges. Traded Kluber to the rangers and got Clase. And traded Lindor and got Rosario who batted .285 and Gimenez who was an all star.

Dodgers with a very critical and I mean critical 5-3 dub over the Padres. Kershaw goes in Game 2 vs Yu Darvish

It would be nice to see some fresh blood in the NLCS.
SD and PHI would be a unique matchup if it happens.

San Diego vs. Philadelphia will be a first time postseason matchup.
One week after the first postseason game to enter the 15th scoreless, Seattle and Houston say hold my beer and extend that record to the 18th. It was the 4th total postseason game to enter the 18th inning, and all 4 were won with homers in that inning. The Mariners still haven't a scored a postseason run at home since 2001.

In the NL the underdog won every series whereas in the AL 4 of the 5 series went chalk.
As a result we have a 1 vs. 6 matchup in the World Series.
There has been on previous Philadelphia/Houston matchup in the postseason, when the Phillies defeated the Astros 3 games to 2 in the 1980 NLCS.

This is the Astros 4th World Series in 6 years. Super impressive.

Seeing the Yanks get swept, alleviates some of the pain of our Guardians losing. That felt good!!!

if anyone cares, I'm going through Dodger withdrawal
BellevueBuckeye mentioned 1980 NLCS between this year's WS participants. That was one heck of a Series that year. Maybe a duplicate this year?

Astros just threw the first combined no-hitter in World Series history and the 2nd no-hitter in World Series history altogether. The other no-hitter came in Game 5 of the World Series in 1956 when Don Larsen threw a perfect game against the Dodgers at Yankee stadium. Larsen also completed that perfect game in only 97 pitches.
