With what looks like the apparent departure of Mt.Vernon to the Licking County League. What are anyone's thoughts on possible options for OCC. Does this open the door for Dover to get in? Or another thought will it cause a more massive shift. That could involve the SBC or MOAC. Not wishing for anything just putting scenarios out there. In my opinion if Dover wants in I believe at this point they will get in

Perfect fit for Ontario, IMO. Dover just adds to the travel of the OCC.
Ashland Ontario Madison Mansfield Sr. Shelby Lexington Wooster West Holmes
Just throwing it out there.

With all the people on here who have said that the MOAC doesn’t prepare Shelby for the postseason or make them better, well here is your chance Shelby to take a step up to a better league

OCC Stays at 7 for the foreseeable future unless 3 unprotected draft choices are offered in the deal.

I think Shelby would have been a good fit into the OCC but now that they are in the MOAC I do not see them changing. West Holmes was vocal against Shelby due to their own travel and Wooster was against moving the OCC any further West. They never had a chance.

Ontario has had multiple chances to join the OCC and looked, searched and hunted for other options every time. Their location to Mansfield, Lexington, Madison and Ashland make them a perfect option. I have said it often that I think a league of the following would be good for the area. Mansfield Madison Lexington Ontario Shelby Galion Clear Fork Willard

Now not only would Wooster and West Holmes be against such a move, so would New Philly. BUT after 5 years or so as a 7 school league ideas have a funny way of changing.

Ontario has not had multiple chances when the OCC needed a school. They were already in 8 school leagues they were happy with. Ontario was never an independent desperate for a league to get into. Ontario NEVER left a league. Schools do not change leagues to make schools in another league happy. Ontario never searched and hunted. When the NCC kicked then out, the NOL needed a school, so they join the NOL. Then the NOL imploded and joined the SBC. Ontario did not want to travel north to Lake Erie for almost every game. So they worked with Galion, Clear Fork, Shelby and the remaining Marion county schools to save the MOAC. That often thought league is nothing more than pie in the sky. Galion has NEVER had interest. Clear Fork tried the OCC and did not like it. Shelby had a chance but.....Willard is silliness, just ask them. Ontario is now in an 8 school league with Shelby, Galion, Clear Fork and River Valley, which they helped save. They should change to make 3 schools in the OCC happy? If this league is all about closeness, travel and gates, where is Ashland?? A current close by OCC member that brings big gates

They won't replace it with anyone besides maybe Dover. But, I don't think it changes until the MOAC blows up when Pleasant finally gets out. Then Lex puts the full court press on Galion to get into the MOAC.

A current close by OCC member that brings big gates you do know that when west holmes was asked to join the ECOL, the OCC talked to Ontario about joining a bigger league since they had been dominate is some sports in the NCC. They were also then talked to when it was discovered the NCC was kicking them out. Then again when the NOL folded and the SBC gave every school but Ontario an invitation, Ontario was contacted about a potential 10 team league. They were quick and clear to turn it down every time.

Then add Lexington and Madison for a 10 team league. Of course I am just spit balling here. I also like the thought of the SBC Lake and the western OCC schools getting together. Since none of that will happen any time soon I still have a feeling that Dover is next man up for the OCC.

I guess other schools who’d be a good fit aren’t ready for that kind of competition.

The OCC was Shelby's first choice after leaving the SBC but as we all know, West Holmes shot that down. Now West Holmes is sitting pretty good location wise should Dover replace Mt. Vernon.

All of a sudden Clyde, Bellevue, Columbian, Sandusky, Norwalk, Senior, Madison, and Lexington doesn;t sound so bad!! As long as the state agrees to make Rte 13 four lanes all the way to Milan!! Beats dodging buggies on 250 headed to Tuskyland!

But several years as a 7 school league with Pleasant out and Highland in makes it easier for Lex to get approved.

Trying to get 4 non-league games a couple being in odd weeks. Not to mention the bad feeling for Bay Schools not willing to schedule them on odd weeks they also do not have games, because of THEIR small division.

"Good fit" LOL....Those "other schools" would have even longer trips to Wooster, West Holmes and New Philly, than current OCC schools. LOOK at a map.

But then another school was needed, so the next year they invited Upper back and they jumped at the chance with their tales between their legs.
