I don't think it's official, but rumors circulating after the way things went after week 11's victory.

Did the ClearFork coach quit? or just a rumor? Have also heard he will not be returning. Not sure if it was resignation, non-renewal, or fired. Will be interesting story to follow in the coming days/weeks.

The guy has been doing the same stuff for years. The people in charge have made his actions the new normal.

I heard from a pretty reliable source it is for sure, but did not say whether it was fired or resigned.

I have not feelings either way but this does surprise me a little since people have been upset with some of his actions for years.

That's going to be a very attractive job. Great facilities, tradition, support, and a really good junior class to build with.

Maybe the AD wants to hire her Dad.... Her Dad coaches football and was a long time loyal assistant to Carroll.

It will be interesting to hear the school’s side of this. The MNJ story only gives his side.

Carroll isn't the first "old school" coach that parents and players wanted to get rid of. His problem? 90-61 isn't good enough for an old "school coach" to keep his job. Especially at a football school where more than 1 loss per year in the regular season is not acceptable

Don't know details, but I've had a few people tell me that this has been been building up for a while (as in a few years) and the events of the playoff game against Upper that were referenced in the article may have been the final straw.

It’s hard to argue with any of his points in the article. Key words his points. Given the opportunity to give an unopposed viewpoint the school’s story would sound convincing, too. Truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

Truth is probably somewhere in the middle. That is never going to happen. If the school says anything, they prob get taken to court. (sued)

Truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Carroll has been interviewed numerous times in the last couple days giving his side of the events. He has also said his number is out there and he can be called at any time. If anything of what he was saying is not true it would be very easy to call him out on it. Not saying the school would do that but there are plenty of people in the valley who wanted him gone for years and had a dislike. If he was telling lies, they could easily call him out and make him look very bad.

Each of the interviews definitely provides a lot of opportunity for him to be called out. This is where perception and perspective comes in to play. His perception and perspective of all the things mentioned is clearly different than those of the individuals making the administrative decisions.

I feel like he would be better to stop revisiting all of this in the press. For those reasons you just mentioned. Also, I would think someone will bring him on staff in the area. Any chance they reverse course after this and bring him back for one more if the decision was really leaked out of executive session by the board?

I also feel the institution will never comment officially in an interview. But is it possible that the decisions were made with poor information OR being influenced unfairly by community members? It would be very easy to change the perception that the fired coach is laying out there.

Any chance they reverse course after this and bring him back for one more if the decision was really leaked out of executive session by the board? That would be terrible. Relationships have been torched at this point. In an interview he states he received a phone call from a parent the day of their tournament game, complaining about their son needing to be more involved. He said this phone call lasted for an hour. Complaining parent calls on game day may last 15-20 minutes but not an hour. This is not someone just calling to complain. For that call to last an hour and it to be made on game day, it is someone close to the coach and who has been in conversations with the HC already.
