Bellevue's scores have been drives capped with a short Ray run and a 30-40ish yard pass to #10 (run failed, pass complete on the conversions)
Shelby had a drive with a lot of short passes and then 2 one play drives with runs of 60+ yards. They also went the length of the field right before half and missed a 25ish yard fg

Feel like we play real soft in the secondary anyway despite having some good athletes back there

The Redmen better find a defense soon!! You don't play Willard and Toledo Rogers every week.

Whoever posted on here that Bellevue defensive line would give Shelby offensive fits couldn't be more wrong...Shelby ran on them all night long...

I am extremely happy: Cavs win, Indians in World Series, SHS girls' golf third in the state, and SHS football pummels Bellevue. Way to go Whippets!!

Yeah!!!! Way to go Whippets!!! While I have not seen shelby this year I could've told you our defensive line wouldn't give you guys fits. it's been one of the worst in recent years. Not much of a pass rush at all, can't stop the run and our defensive scheme of playing so soft in the secondary has burnt us all year versus the better teams. I hate to say it but if Ed doesn't change up that defense before the playoffs we won't last long.

My reply was more of a celebratory "yeah" than an agreement to the previous post...I can see how that may look different than what I imtended.

This game was a great HS football game to watch...back and forth scoring, big plays, bonehead plays...it really had it all

Shelby was running through arm tackles all night, and also had plenty of times where they pushed the pile an extra 5-10 yards while the Bellevue defenders attempted fruitlessly to strip the ball. Shelby only had to punt once. Their only other non scoring drives were an interception that went off the receiver's hands (Bellevue immediately went 3 and out), the drive where they went from 2nd and forever from their own 4 to 1st and goal before missing a FG right before half, and the last drive where they mercifully took knees to run out the 4th quarter near the redzone.
Bellevue moved the ball well for the most part, but did have to punt 2-3 times, and turned it over on downs in Shelby territory 3 times. The first of those was the dropped TD I mentioned in the 2nd qtr, which blew a chance to take the lead. The 2nd one was around the 17 yard line late in the 2nd (right before Shelby's missed FG drive), and the 3rd one was their last gasp late in the 4th, from down around the 30 or so.
Congrats on the win Whippets, and good luck in the playoffs.

No problem, I was referencing baldref comments: "...Armstrong will struggle and the Redmen will win the battle upfront on both sides of the ball -- that's always been the Redmen's strength and the conditions tonight favor them greatly...". In case they weren't at the game wanted to let them know...

Great win for Shelby and a very fitting end to a long and successful NOL run. Wish the weather would have been a bit warmer as it definitely detracted from the attendance on both sides of the field. Hoping the Whippets can get a home game as that would be an electric environment.

Bellevue had trouble with tackling. Has this been a problem all season? This was my first game in 2016. Also Shelby's speed with Armstrong and #8- Shorty-something also caused issues. Shelby had some big guys upfront and some of the holes were-huge. It seems like Shelby could do some damage in the playoffs. Also I see that Bellevue could miss the playoffs if Oak Harbor beats Port Clinton and everyone else above Bellevue wins in Region 14.

Bellevue has had two sloppy games this year! Week 2 against Perkins and now week 9 against Shelby. This could cost them a playoff spot. Hope we make it in. This team should be playing week 11. IMO
