Figured we can start a new thread for the new season and year. It’s being reported online that Ryan Day told Kirk Herbstreit that he will not be calling plays next year. So now speculation is could it be Frye who was the OC at UCLA or could it be Hartline? Or maybe they hire an outsider?

I'd like to see #7 Stroud come back, I don't think he's ready for the NFL, Until he drops that ignorant mentality he has, "If I wanted to run the ball, I'd be a running back", We know he's a good passer, Nothing more than that. If he should leave, I think he'll amount to nothing like JT Barrett did. Another year here would do him wonders.

He’s at his peak for value right now and will see a lot of money. I think his time to go is now.

By staying he’d place himself in a much deeper draft class next year. If he were to have a bad year he’d cost himself millions. As for his “ignorant mentality” did you even watch the game Saturday? You miss CJ running around taking hits trying to will OSU to victory? Seems to me his mentality is just fine.

I watched the game. His performance was outstanding, But that should have been a weekly thing with him, Running the ball more, Not just in a couple of games, During his 2 years here.

Whether he stays or goes he is a top 10 draft pick and 1-2 QB taken. There endless reasons for him to go and stay. Only he can make that decision. After the Hamlin injury and many other past and present, you can’t blame these kids for getting their money and running.
I think all the critics, me included, were shown what the buckeyes are capable of. They were a kick away from the NC game and with a solid guy like Ruggles, we have to only educationally guess he was very nervous and it got the best of him.
It’s funny if you look at several statistics of that game you would assume the buckeyes won that game, though that wasn’t the case. These boys are very very talented and I believe they will take a lot of inspiration into 2023, to show they can finish the job. The road isn’t easy though.
As much as I hate to say it, this loss hurts worse than Michigan taking us to the wood shed.

BTW, there's been a Harbaugh sighting in Charlotte, N.C. As a disguise, he was not wearing kaki's or sporting a whistle.

Will Kyle McCord lead the Bucks to the playoffs next up coming season?

Will Kyle McCord lead the Bucks to the playoffs next up coming season? that’s going to be the one billion dollar question! If I were Kyle the next 6 months would be devoted to my academics, QB development, and strength/endurance training. There is no excuse of “he doesn’t have anyone to throw to.” The tools are there, the only question for me is will he rise to the occasion and execute….

He also has a start under his belt and played with Marv in high school.

Will Kyle McCord lead the Bucks to the playoffs next up coming season? If Kyle McCord earns a starting spot, or Devin Brown, or a transfer portal QB yet to announce. I have this gut feeling, the QB position may be one of great surprise for Buckeye fans.

After making the playoffs and playing the #1 seed, he was set free.

He'll be very close to graduating this year. The rest is a given, or he should enter The Portal now. For THE team, Ryan Day and THE Ohio State University the best thing that could happen is McCord is the starter next year, then enter the draft. Then Brown becomes the starter the following year, then enters the draft. If that does not happen there is going to be scaring times in the QB room. IMO, the biggest concern for the success of the offense next year is the O-line.

Ryan Day WILL NOT take a QB out of The Portal this year, unless McCord or Brown leaves and he needs an experienced back up. McCord and Brown are as good or better than anyone in The Portal.

Probably true. The few minutes we've seen McCord on the field this year, he was less than impressive. But then again, we probably were saying the same thing about Joe Burrow at one point....right?

No one can look impressive getting only a few reps in practises and only playing some in a couple 4th quarters. How Did CJ look prior to becoming a Starter?

With Stover and Johnson announcing they will return, Buckeyes will have all of their pass catchers back and running backs. Whoever the QB is will have a good first year.

The heart of the defense is Tommy Eichenberg, if he decides to stick, that would be huge.

The O-line is one area that Ryan Day is utilizing the transfer portal to solidify & bolster.
