Noticed that yesterday West Holmes running back got an offer from Ohio State. Kid's an amazing talent, not sure if he will end up at Ohio State or not, but for an Ohio kid that's about as good as it gets. Bad news of the OCC he still has one more year.

Kid has an offer from Ohio State and is mentioned as the West Holmes leader but cannot win the OCC offensive POY. How is that possible?

I would say that this has a major impact on the OCC next year. Wonder how the rest of the program at West Holmes feels.

He played at another school his freshman year I believe or has he always been at West Holmes? I want to say it was Loudonville.

This is nothing.
The best light weight high school wrestler in the country moved from Tucson Sunnyside, best wrestling high school in Arizona as a Freshman, to St.Paris Graham as a Sophomore, then this year to Stillwater Oklahoma, for his Junior year, where Oklahoma State is. Because that's where he's decided he wants to wrestle in college.

So the kid will travel from Loudonville to West Holmes and now Pick North. I don’t know the whole story but the move for Loudonville to West Holmes was a legit move. If anything him starting at Loudonville was more suspect then him playing at West Holmes the last two years.

I heard the move from a Redbird to a Knights was not so legit, if Mom stayed at the same residence.

Something similar got the last of 3 QBs that went from Ontario to Senior in trouble and he was stopped from playing the 2nd half of the season by the OHSAA. Although Chiokie didn't get in trouble

The kid also has a younger brother that played a big part in the West Holmes success. So I bet they are losing both players.

IF "legit" makes me think of the old MC Hammer song "Too legit to quit" haha. Shoot, maybe they are moving because they think Pick North will afford them better educational opportunities.... ( )

That is really weird. Isn't Loudonville just barely in Ashland county? Maybe she was originally from Ashland county/Loudonville.

I was told over the weekend that SWD is moving to Columbus but his little brother is staying in W. Holmes. Ohio State wanting him closer to them was a factor in his move as well as the promise of some future NIL money.

By OHSAA Bylaws, the ENTIRE family must move for a transfer to be eligible to play. The family of the 3rd QB that transferred from Ontario to Mansfield Senior was caught not moving the entire family and the kid was not allowed to play. Of course, he was not good enough to play for any college, let alone Ohio State.

He was living with a foster parent in West Holmes district so maybe OSU arranged for a new foster setting in the Pick North area.

Newest thing around the state is the transferring of guardianship. Probably not the best way to say it but I was told they made some suggestions about what should be done. Saying they "arranged" anything is probably untrue.

Of course, he was not good enough to play for any college, let alone Ohio State. Football Coaching friends of mine said that issue was a witch hunt. Said his sister continued getting dropped off at the old house before it sold due to logistical issues of her open enrolling to Ontario from the new mansfield address. That is rumor I heard. But seems like it was done out of spite that another athlete left Ontario. But that is an outsiders opinion.

ALSO, the older brother never moved. He stayed at the former residence. As far as their daughter, it's just another couple of miles to the school. Wouldn't it be better to drop her off at school than having her stand out in the cold and rain at the previous address?? What if they didn't get her open enrolled? There is only ONE day a year you can open enroll to Ontario AND people campout in front of the BOE office to make sure they get their kid/kids in. Not everyone makes it every year, there are only so many openings per year.
"Witch hunt"? It's impossible for the OHSAA to track down all potential cases of Bylaw infractions. The OHSAA cannot afford dozens of detectives. It's the responsibilities of school districts to police and report potential violations. The OHSAA then investigates. You think there was no infraction and OHSAA screwed the kid on purpose??
As my above post states, he was the 3rd QB in a row that "moved" to Mansfield, with the assistance of Mansfield Senior's head coach. No one in their right mind "moves" to Mansfield from Ontario, unless it's an easy path to getting a high school diploma OR play football. Your taxes are higher, the education is not as good and your new house will not be worth as much when you sell it. WHICH is why there are OHSAA Bylaws governing transfers.
My point is, if this kid's younger brother stays in West Holmes, the OHSAA bylaws say the older brother can't play, UNLESS the entire family moves OR there's a fake change of guardianship. There goes tax deductions that better not be claimed, with the 80,000 new IRS agents out there
