With the sectional tournament behind us, I heard or read something interesting. Col. Crawford has won 12 straight sectional titles. That got me thinking about other schools that may be able to match that as well as schools that have a drought for sectional titles. Here is what I found. Crawford County is rather interesting.
CC has 12 straight but the rest of Crawford County is in the drought column.
Buckeye Central-8 years without a title Wynford 7 Galion 14 Crestline 26 Bucyrus 70 years
I tried thinking of others that would have streaks and here is what I found: Good: Lucas 6 in a row Willard 5 in a row A couple schools had their streaks broken this year Western and Norwalk both had 4 in a row until this year.
Bad: Danbury 18 Bellevue 13 Plymouth 8 Clyde 7
It's clearly easier to put a bad streak together than a good streak. Any schools I missed?

some of those are crazy! i had heard danbury girls made it to the district finals for first time in school history this year... and when i think back of all the athletes they had over the years, that is mind boggling. its not basketball but huron volleyball has 28 straight sectional titles..

Seneca East won their first sectional title since 1990. Only Ridgement (in Hardin Northern) and Bucyrus had gone longer in NW Ohio.

Speaking of the girls, Buckeye Central beat those Danbury girls you mentioned for their 7th strait DISTRICT championship.

70 years without a sectional title is just mind blowing. If Bucyrus ever wins one the streets of bratti-town will look like they just won a national title.

One of the more amazing Sectional Tournament runs was by Mansfield St.Peters.
3 - starting in the 3rd year of having a basketball program in 60-61 to 62-63. Then did not win one in 63-64 15 - from 64-65 thru 78-79. Then did not win one in 79-80. 13 - from 80-81 to 92-93
That's 31 Sectional Titles in 33 years. There were 6 head coaches in those 33 years
Making it to Columbus 7 times winning 2 State Titles

In the past 10 years have many Bucyrus kids graduated from other Crawford County schools that would have made a difference? My guess is a good number but probably not as many as one might think. I’d say Wynford has probably had there share of Bucyrus students given the close proximity. CC has had a few but not many that played basketball or that would of made a difference.
