Not the case in all areas. The private school enrollments in Mansfield have shrunk, along with the city schools. Mansfield St.Peters, Mansfield Senior AND the no longer in existence Malabar basketball is nothing like it was in the early 90s and earlier. St.Peters now barely has enough players to have a team, The biggest problem is the OHSAA is afraid to enforce their own Bylaws, for fear of protracted lawsuits that could bankrupt them. For example, did all those kids for Rossford that don't live in Rossford, did they have to sit out half the season and tournament the year they showed up in Rossford? Can’t count teams that don’t have kids that don’t want to play or towns that lose population. (Mansfield your best example) Privates have advantage of getting boosters to help pay tuition. If st Pete’s can’t find donations to pay for tuition that’s a reflection on the economic condition of mansfield As to publics losing enrollment is a sign of a aging community Catholic charities do plenty for illegal aliens St Pete is in trouble because the catholic education is not important to enough people in the Mansfield area. THe basketball program doesn’t attract anyone. Their schedule is weak and the leadership has declined. They do have boosters but nobody to pay for.

If st Pete’s can’t find donations to pay for tuition that’s a reflection on the economic condition of mansfield As to publics losing enrollment is a sign of a aging community Catholic charities do plenty for illegal aliens There was NOTHING in your supposition about towns losing population or kids who don't want to play. Which makes you statement weak. My ONLY example is Mansfield and Richland county, because that's the area I'm most familiar with. Thus, do not making blanket statements, like you in error do. What area is your familiarity with? You better say the entire state, because that's what your proposition implies. It is incorrect to say that boosters help with tuition unless you know for a fact that's the case with all. There are MANY millionaire catholics in Richland county. Do the research before bloviating. For the most part the ENTIRE State of Ohio is losing population due to being an "aging" State. Thus the "rust belt" moniker. I do not know of a single "illegal alien" who's a very good basketball player. Soccer maybe, but not basketball or football.

Maybe that’s where ppl are moving to, i dont know. Yes, Ontario has steadily grown since the 1950's. Not their fault that it's a better place to live due to the academics and low taxes. They've built 2 new schools without the help of the State, unlike 90% of the other Districts in Ohio. And that's without their GM Stamping Plant, that closed 13 years ago. Believe it or not, they have a very good academic standing, even though only 11 Districts in Ohio collect fewer taxes per pupil than Ontario.

If not for open enrollment Ontario would be down too. Most of the housing growth in Ontario is condos and rentals.

9 years later, I still wonder how podunk Norwalk did it. And, I want to thank Coach Gray because I never heard the word "podunk " until he referenced it. Rest assured, like Glenville in Football, Van Wert will give it all against West. FYI, Sandusky is now 0-11 @ Regional. Not all were against all-star teams. 2017, you lost by nearly 25 to..... Wauseon Don't make excuses; get it done How many regional games has Fremont ross been too?

If not for open enrollment Ontario would be down too. Most of the housing growth in Ontario is condos and rentals. Build it and they will come. Why buy a house, condo or rent an apartment in Ontario when you can get there using open enrollment? THE EXACT reason why Ohio's Open Enrollment program was created

Do you remember Kory Santoro-s criticism of Roger's? Akron St V 1974, Thurgood Marshall and Watterson 2014, Padua Franciscan VB 2012... Norwalk got it done under bright lights You had Elyria, Lancaster, Eastmoor, and Wauseon as prior Regional opponents. Just get it done, already. I'm pulling for you guys

I agree WF,,,Lex's guards were just fair hence like you said they fell apart against the Sandusky pressure. LW was able to handle it so they won. Speaking of Lex,,,I wonder if the really good Freshman stays there all 4 years or moves on to an IMG type school to play better comp and get exposure. in the land of of Jamie Feick, Jon Sanderson, and Cade Stover, Fogle is fine right now

If you've been to Ohio Northern you might recall that the playing floor is separated from the locker rooms by a hallway that is occupied by fans due to the concession area and rest rooms. The parking was cramped and I had to walk farther than I anticipated, so I entered the lobby just a few minuted before tip-off. As I peaked through a door that led to the stands there was an enormous shadow that enveloped me. Finding that a bit odd I turned to look behind me and the shadow was Feick. I had seen him play when he was in high school and knew that he was big, but had no idea. I'm 6'5" and felt like a tot. The dude was jacked and had to have 20" arms. He made sure to wear a short-sleeve shirt just to emphasize that fact. I've been around plenty of big guys in my travels but Feick was mammoth.

StreakNation, so you don't think I'm picking on Sandusky for its sake, I feel same way regarding Ross and Football playoffs

Just watched this Sandusky game on Buckeye Broadband channel 7. It looked like when the Streaks got way behind at the end of the game they just panicked and couldn't seem to make a shot.

Obviously he didn’t and made the right career path. Anybody who saw Pace play basketball knows that he could have contributed to a D-I program. Would he have been a NBA type big? Nope. HOF football player? Yep. He made the right choice.

I remember Nationally televised OSU game when they showed Pace's Sandusky Bball highlights against Admiral King. People forget he s passed up a Parade-All American trip to Florida so he could help his team
