Now that 8 weeks are in the books I figure we would use a thread for playoff talk and harbin crunching.
Here's where the NOL & SBC teams in the hunt for the playoffs currently stand:
Division 3, Region 10
#2 - Sandusky #3 - Clyde #7 - Norwalk --- #11 Perkins
Division 4, Region 14
#1 - Port Clinton #4 - Bellevue --- #9 - Oak Harbor
Division 4, Region 15
#4 - Shelby
Division 5, Region 18
#4 - Edison
Division 7, Region 26
#5 - Tiffin Calvert

If Edison beat PC & Academy lose to (8-0) Bexley. EHS then look good for #4 seed home game.

Fliers with 2 more wins should lock in the #3 seed. The bottom 4 teams in region 10 are not looking that great as I see a Sandusky vs Clyde round 2 game shaping up later next month. Edison's non conference schedule of Western Reserve, SMCC and Willard is really hurting them. Region 14 is shaping up to be a dandy. Hartley is the favorite IMO with 2 close loses to TCC and Columbus Desales.

In Clyde's region last year the top 8 teams had a combined number of 9 losses on the season. This season, with 2 weeks to go the top 8 teams already have 15.

I'm not sure if that indicates anything, but it seems to be a high number of losses for the top 8.

If Sandusky stays at #2 and Norwalk stays at #7, Norwalk will have to make two trips to Strobel in weeks 10 & 11. That will be interesting.

I thought D1 always played on Saturday night? This is a big change from prior years. Any idea why OHSAA changed this up? Just wanted to mix things up a bit?

OHSAA changed things up a bit. There were complaints that attendance was down at Saturday playoff games, and some of the Division I coaches were unhappy with always playing playoff games on Saturday.
I guess I get what the Division I coaches were saying, but on the other hand, playing on Saturday is better than sitting at home in weeks 11-15.
I believe there was a brief discussion of playing all Divisions on Friday nights until championship weekend, but that would never work in terms of logistics.

Assuming Bellevue win. Ben Logan, River Valley & Oak Harbor all have to win to most likely knockout Bellevue.

The rumor was also Vermilion had to beat Clyde because Bellevue gets Clyde second-level points...Pasteur's site has "Who to root for in week 10". It appears River Valley, Ben Logan, Oak Harbor and Napoleon are the teams jostling over the last two spots, should they all win. Bellevue is 97% with a win.

Region 14 could get re-arranged quite a bit depending on outcomes tonight.

Just goes to show you that you actually have to beat someone to get into the playoffs. This year was Oak Harbor knocking off Eastwood. Eastwood should finish 9-1. OH now is dropping Eastwood...
Just goes to show you how weak Region 14 is this year, Harbin wise.

king martinez, since bellevue already beat clyde, clyde beating vermilion helps bellevue as far as second level points.vermilion does not hurt or help bellevue.

Computer points tied between 2 teams. What is tiebreaker ? 3rd level points (which would be the 2nd level points of the teams you beat) king martinez, since bellevue already beat clyde, clyde beating vermilion helps bellevue as far as second level points.vermilion does not hurt or help bellevue. Bellevue only gets 2nd level points from the Clyde/Vermilion game if Clyde wins. Vermilion could hurt Bellevue by denying those points.
