Well with the season officially getting underway Friday, lets get some predictions...
Who's going to be on top this year? Have to think Oak Harbor, Margaretta, Clyde and Perkins will all be fighting it out.
Thoughts?

Clyde should be the favorite with the two losses to graduation to Oak Harbor, and the two injuries.
Clyde returns its entire starting lineup and a couple key players off the bench. Heidi Marshall, Melissa Laconis, Morgan Bannister, Dowling, and Royster started, plus you had Martin off of the bench.
Oak Harbor will start the season with just one returning starter in Logan Harris but they also return Emma Bergman, Ashley Riley, Maddy Rathbun, and will get Abby Dornbusch back in the middle of January. From my understanding, Emma Barney, will miss the entire season.

Huron is hitting program rock bottom. no freshman team, no jv team, 14 total girls out. near 40 girls are now swimming.

Perkins also only has 14 girls from what I heard. I guess a lot refused to come out.

It may not be pretty but Huron should be fielding a JV team if they have 14 girls playing. The Huron admin needs to look in the mirror and ask themselves how this program got to where it is. It's not the kid's and it's not even the coaches per say. IMO it comes down to the administration making poor hire after poor hire and then not giving them the support they need. When a sports program reaches this level of trouble most people tend to blame the coaches or players when the real culprit is usually in administration.

i counted 11 girls on tv for huron at margaretta this morning. 22-0 after 1st quarter 44-7 at half. huron had only 12 turnovers during a first half which margaretta pressed the entire time. but they couldnt finish. fundamentals are bad. very bad.

^^^ After 1, 22-0 Bears, Half 45-7 MHS, End of 3, 54-22 Polar Bears, Final was 71-28 Margaretta. I'm not a coach, But what was the need to, Or what did Tucker need to prove by pressing the entire game against a horrible team ?

Just curious, but if this were a boys game would you care as much?

^^^ Yes, I would care. Not sure why there's a need to press most of the game against any team that is as awfully bad as Huron is, I'm not a coach, so not sure what the reasoning is. I would not have done that.

Because this is what he does and it's what he has done for 20+ years now from the top of his program to the bottom. I think it's bush league but it"s what he's built his program around.

i dont know that he was pressing man to man full court is what i thought of it on tv. if huron drops 3 girls back, four of the margaretta girls go back leaving just one up front. margaretta did fine, huron did not do fine.

Tucker still pressing with a 45-7 lead at halftime is total B.S. I don't buy this is what he does bull, whatever happened to showing a little class. If I was Huron's Coach I would of had plenty to say to this guy after the game, none of which would have been pleasant.

By press do you mean they were trapping or just playing man-to-man full court? Those are 2 completely different things

it looked like matchup man to man pick them up full court from what i could tell on tv no big problem.

Call it what you want but Why? Agreed that he has been doing that for years but...well... anyhow. At least he's not saying before the season starts that ...We're not worried about the league, just the big picture of how far we can go to get to state... Gosh, I haven't seen that in years... thanks, Clyde!
