It was announced last week that Lucas Poggiali would be taking over as athletic director, which then translated to Jamaris Brown taking over as the football coach.
Now, they've both withdrawn their names:

What a mess. I guess this shouldn't come as a surprise.

Long time lurker here don’t comment often. I’ll repost here what I posted in the Yappi thread as a small info fill in:
The gist of the story is a group of parents/community members got upset that someone else was not picked they viewed as more qualified. There was some awful things said about/to Lucas and also the school system in the process. To the point SCS held an “open forum” last night to discuss his hiring. From what I saw/read it got pretty heated and so Lucas released statement this morning essentially saying it wasn’t worth the grief to his family or himself to deal with it and he isn’t sure if he will be back in ANY capacity next season.

Sandusky: A program that could be great, but held back by its own dumb supporters

Nothing like blowing up your football program in the first week of June. It’s not like conditioning is going on already.

I just keep seeing people post that the hiring process was unfair, but no one mentions what was unfair about it.
Do they just want the bball alumni as AD.
I mean Sandusky doesn't care about football, just boys basketball it seems like.
What a shame to do this to the kids, over what? Disgruntled adults?

"I mean Sandusky doesn't care about football" Never EVER thought I would hear this statement. They don't seem to care about it like they used to. Boys basketball now, everyone cares about that. Biggest winner here will be neighboring schools who may get transfers

Small bombshell to add to this. This whole outraged started over scoring rubrics from the FIRST STAGE of the hiring process. JaMarcus Hampton (the one folks who were crying deserved the job instead) supposedly didn’t get scored fairly. Now it comes out he was STILL a finalist for the job. Made it to the last round of interviews and the start of all the outrage was a moot point. Sandusky parents just potentially ran a devoted coach and alumni from their school system permanently over allegations of mishandling of a process that their preferred candidate made it TWO STEPS FARTHER in than the point of contention.

"I mean Sandusky doesn't care about football" Never EVER thought I would hear this statement. I'm not doubting what has been reported about the goings on with the Streak athletic department but if the story is accurate they will get exactly what they deserve. As a long-time fan of Sandusky football this bothers me deeply. This is the type of stuff that caused Lima Senior to become a ten foot pole job and if they're not careful it's where SHS will wind up. I'm not one that expects the Monsters of the Seaway year in and year out but they're playing with fire. Is Sandusky returning a decent group from last year?

Their closest games were 16-point victories over Lakewood and Admiral King. Seaman was UPI coach of the year. Brian Healy and Dave Schweinfurth shared team MVP honors.

I don't know, my dad graduated from SHS and he says it was Monsters of the Midway when he was in school. That may certainly be the case. I suspect that I am older than your father and we could have different experiences. Since I did not attend SHS I can only vouch for what I heard from others and Butch Wagner. I mean no disrespect to anyone. Nonetheless, I wish the Streaks all the best but disruption in mid-July seems like a tall order to overcome. Are the assistants conducting summer practices and 7-on-7's?

So according to the article on Poggiali going to Margaretta, Sandusky hasn't even posted their AD or FB job... What are they doing over there? I'm serious when I say they don't care about FB anymore. If the boys basketball job was open this close to the winter season, all hell would break loose.
What a shame for the kids in Sandusky to be left out to dry like this. It's dysfunctional and embarrassing.

board meeting on tuesday. brown will be on agenda as football coach and steve camella as interim AD. guess they need a little more time to find the right colored AD for full time position. camella couldn't even get huron's count right for baseball!

It’s good they were atleast able to retain brown as the football coach. He will have a late start at it, but I think he will do a good job leading the program
