Thoughts on this week’s slate of games…..

Galion rights the ship against Highland.
Ontario beats Pleasant. I think Pleasant is going to appreciate these losses when they run into the playoff competition in rounds 1 & 2.
Shelby beats RV. FYI this game is in Shelby this year. RV has been a tricky opponent for Shelby in football since joining the MOAC. They also throw more than Shelby does as far as attempts go. It will be fun to see how we stack up against them. RV has seen a classic pocket passer in Bernhard, a run-heavy approach with Miller & Ontario, and now you'll get a mix of both with Shelby.
CF over Harding. I saw Harding has a lot of injuries? Including their QB? Their QB was pretty talented. I don't think MH can keep up if that's the case this week.
NP over Madison. New Philly is Jekyl and Hyde. Lose by a TD to Steubenville, lose to Mansfield. The only pattern is their scores are awfully low. I'd like to see a New Philly game based on that. I expect Madison to keep it respectful...they have a sneaky win coming soon, or so I think.
Ashland. I think the area has a nice three-headed dragon with Shelby, Ontario, and Ashland. Good teams win, and I think Ashland settles a bit after last week. Also read Mansfield has a key injury from last week that could weigh on them.
West Holmes? Both teams here are improving. I want to think Lexington has the ability to finally get a complete game against someone, but I'm saying WH until they get knocked.
Dover. It will be cool to see them with a full OCC schedule.

Ontario has no trouble with Pleasant
If Shelby starts slow this game is exciting until the 4th. If Shelby jumps out, it's boring for 2.5 quarters. Either way I think Shelby wins.
Saw MH in a scrimmage only and CF live. I'll go with CF.
My head says NP but my heart is telling me the Rams have a good chance if they build on last weeks game. I picked an NP win but I'm thinking this could be Madison 's week.
Ashland all the way after what I saw last week. Mansfield looks to be a trainwreck of players and coaching.
WH should eb the favorite but Lex has the home field. Both coming off a win but neither are impressive. 50/50
Dover has a good Homecoming game.

Galion at Highland- Galion is licking there wounds, but will heal up a bit against the Fighting Scots. Tigers 39-13 over the Scots.
Ontario at Pleasant - Pleasant may hang around for a half but the Warriors pull away 35-14.
River Valley at Shelby- Could be a interesting game at the Vikings home field. River Valley has been a pesky opponent for the Whippets since becoming rivals in the MOAC. But have to go with Shelby 31-16.
Clear Fork at Marion Harding- Clear Fork gets the win Friday. Colts 31-10 over the Presidents.
Madison at New Philadelphia- Madison is going to win one these games against the upper echelon of the league. Will this be the week. Maybe? But while the Rams play tough I'll go with the Quakers 21-17.
Mansfield Senior at Ashland- Coach Valentine will have the Arrows ready this week. No 3 overtime escape for Ashland Friday night. The Arrows 30-7
over the struggling TYgers.
West. Holmes at Lexington- Lexington is looking to be improved. But is it enough to knock off the Knights this week? I am going to be a homer and go with the Minutemen 27-20. In a slight upset. We'll maybe not slight😁.
Wooster at Dover- Dover would win the league and go undefeated in league play had they have been in the OCC this season. Wooster is way down and Tornadoes win 49-6 over the Generals.

Shelby and RV game is awesome so far. A ton of throwing, both teams going for it on 4th.

14-7 Shelby. 5:01 in Q1.
Both teams are driving at will. Shelby ended the last RV drive with an INT in the endzone.
Shelby seems to have given up on PATs. The past few weeks I've seen a willingness to go away from PATs. I had gotten cozy with having a good PAT kicker, but this is fun nonetheless.

28-14 Shelby, probably mid Q2. Besides a 54 yard run by Devito, most of the Shelby TDs have been in the redzone. A Devito run, a Lambert catch, a Bowman catch.

Homan on Shelby is a monster on the dline. He's on Ebert every play. He was the random fan favorite from last basketball season for a reason.

42-14 Shelby. 1st half is almost over.
Season highs for Shelby were 41 points last week on Highland and 40 against Madison. The balance of passing and running is looking as good as it could be.

Highland 21 Galion 7 at halftime. It’s been a sloppy, chippy half. Lots of penalties and multiple personal fouls. A bizarre incident occurred early in the first half. Highland broke a long run and Galion hit them out of bounds. Multiple Highland players retaliated and it ended up with Galion being penalized 15 yards, then Highland penalized 45. Then their coach started in on the official and got flagged for 15 more. Galion has had a pick 6 as well as a lost fumble that led to another touchdown.

RV defense is bad. Their QB completes less than 50% Of his passes, even though he throws the ball on almost every down. Easy to play D against that offense, unless your last name is Mauk

MOACsports.com says he has twice as many pass attempts with roughly the same pass yards as Devito.
Honestly, Ebert isn't an awful QB. He places the ball well. It's an imperfect team and he can drag it to decent success.
