The 7th grader was the starting point guard on the 8th grade team. He doesn't look to score much but is a solid player. He should of played with his 7th grade class. Have never seen this, and have NO clue what the thought process would be behind doing it??? Do you not think Jon Diebler, Nick Dials, Ben Haraway, and several others could not have played up a grade level in MS. However in my opinion this does nothing but HURT depth in the 8th grade class as well as lead the player to believe they are better than they are. The MS level should be nothing more than learning and building for the future... This move by SMS does neither IMO A move like this would ONLY be done under the auspices of the head coach. I just lost more respect.

Ontario wins the 8th grade Title in their last year in the NOL, with a 48-36 win over Shelby. They were up by as many as 14 in the first half and 18 in the 2nd half. Played solid defense, man and zone when a couple of players got in foul trouble. Made Shelby's best scorers work hard for their shots. For the most part beat Shelby's press and often attacked and scored when they beat it.
Being the 4th seed they had to beat Willard after losing 4 games in row to them and beat Shelby who they had not won a game against in Jr. Hi. Four players made 3-pointers in the game
Very impressed with PG Ryan Shaver. Fast, strong, very good ball handler in traffic, makes almost 90% of his free throws and can catch and shoot 3-pointers coming off screens. 6-2 post Anthony Nagel is the most improved player on the team. Good inside game, can catch and shoot without bringing the ball down were the little guys are. Has gotten stronger, making him a better rebounder. IMO at least 3 players in this class could play varsity as Sophs, if they continue to work on their games. Since there is not a lot of talent in the 2 classes ahead of them, except for the 2 freshman playing varsity this year.
