The riddler is on point with his story. Something that needs added to this story is that these two people went to school different years. The year the Valedictorian won the prize, the kids in his class happened to not be overly smart. They had a 3.0 GPA,,while the Valedictorian had a 3.1 GPA so he did in fact win the title of Valedictorian, and deserved it. The Salutatorian in his year in HS,,his GPA was 3.7, but there was one kid who had a 3.75 GPA, so for that year, even though he was very smart only deserved the title of Salutatorian. The Salutatorian tips his hat to the Valedictorian on his accomplishment and moves on with life. Crazy thing, the Salutatorian family had 6 other family members who were very smart, they all had 3.70 GPA's when they graduated. H'm,,,pretty smart family. I'm sure mom and dad will be very proud of them for as long as they live. I guess the readers can decide for themselves which family will be remembered for being the smartest. This will be the last I comment on this story. See here is where the story goes off the rails is in the rewrite/addition above... The assumption is by those wearing Crimson colored glasses that the "class was not overly smart" they assume this with NO proof and do so only to push their would, coulda, shoulda narrative....

The additional comments on the GPA level of the other classmates in the different years could only be read as an insult to the side he does not support. Try telling any coach, player or fan they won a state title only because the other teams were bad on the way and you will be laughed out of the conversation.

I once saw someone tell Gregg Collins it was easier to win back when he was coaching at Lexington than it is to win today. He wanted no part of that conversation and told the guy he had no idea what it takes to win the last game of the season in high school basketball.

I really am sad to see that these threads become "hijacked" by people who want to talk about football, or they are just here to cause an argument. I am here strictly to talk about NOL basketball, I do not think that is too much to ask of is it? I think that people can start their own threads to argue with each other. Just my opinion. Just scroll past certain posts, easy as a flick of a finger

Might not be a bad idea Scarlet! I appreciate the insight, but I do not enjoy the mindless arguing.

Imagine the site without any debating of opinions.
