Since there is no category for this, we'll put it here.
Did anyone get the opportunity to see #1 ranked Ohio State vs. #2 ranked UCLA this weekend? Ohio State Men solidified their dominance, taking the Bruin 3 sets to 1.

Any, more on the topic of this thread, I see that St. John Arena is hosting the tournament this year, so the Bucks will have the advantage of home court (assuming they get there)

Any, more on the topic of this thread, I see that St. John Arena is hosting the tournament this year, so the Bucks will have the advantage of home court (assuming they get there) I was faced with a dilemma on where best to post this thread......thanks BellevueBuckeye It seems ironic that Ohio State volleyball is currently the gold standard in collegiate men's volleyball, but the OHSAA does not sanction boys volleyball or conduct tournaments. Think it is run the the Ohio boys volleyball assocation. It teeters between the OBVA and club sports in this state. Anyone please correct me, if my perception is a bit wrong.

Buckeyes just won their 40th straight match. They haven't lost since Feb. 6th of 2016.

Yesterday the Buckeyes won their 2nd straight National Championship, sweeping BYU in straight sets in the championship match at St John Arena. They finish the season with a record of 32-2.
This is Ohio State's 3rd national title in men's volleyball (2011, 2016, 2017)

Another National Championship banner will hang from St. John Arena. They hung that banner this evening, prior to OSU's 3-1 win over Stanford

It would be nice that the OHSAA would sanction boys volleyball. I remember, but not the year, that Norwalk's boys won a non sanction state championship in boys volleyball.

As organized sports continue to expand and evolve, we are seeing h.s. girls rugby, h.s. girls wrestling and certainly, there is room for boys VB in Ohio. Evolving sports can be a bad thing as well......check out the olympics this year, where, for the first time, men masquerading as women, can now ply their unfair, physical advantages against real, legitimate female athletes. Such is the sad world we live in today.

I can remember not to long ago, at least at my age it seems not long ago, there was talk about East Germany woman's team, mainly their weight lifting team, were really men with sex change operations. Now if it happens today they would probably be saying it's ok because the law say's it is. I wonder if I put some balls under my shirt could I play as a woman. Naw, I might be the ugliest woman there and I wouldn't want that. So I'll guess that I'll just stay a man, that's good looking. ROFL.

The International Olympic Committee ruled transgender athletes can compete for the 1st time this Winter Olympics and from that point forward. An incredibly screwed up world this has become. DNA should be the only factor in determining male/female athletes, not the scalpel of some misguided surgeon.

Yes I did.....lol To me, chromosome identity can be way to go. In the past, the Olympics governing body used testosterone levels as a determining device for establishing gender identification. They are getting legal challenges of testing methods from all fronts, complicated by rare, proven instances of abnormalities that can disprove their methods as less the 100% reliable. As a result, the International Olympic committee will allow transgender athletes to compete in the 2018 Winter Games. The only reason is the numerous cases now in the courts contesting virtually every aspect of this controversial subject. My thinking is, these Olympic games will be establishing a precedent, further complicating matters.

The Olympics will turn out to be the best men in the world in men's sports and the next best men in the world in women's sports. 7-2 men who aren't good enough to make the men's basketball teams, 6-3 300 pound weight lifters that can't make their county's weight lifting team. UNLESS the Olympic Committee makes men have sex reassignment surgery first. That should discourage the vast majority who decide they're transgender "athletes". One thing we know for sure. There won't be any original female transgender individuals trying to make an Olympic team as a male.

I think if a woman has that change she or he or whatever they are, might be able to win in gymnastics in the men's category. They are really good in the floor exercise.
