With this win Ohio State is now 4-2 all time vs Notre Dame and 5-2 in Fiesta Bowls
Back to back wins over Michigan and Notre Dame is a nice way to finish the season after the disappointing loss to MSU.

Surprising that the Buckeyes and Irish have only played each other 6 times.

Surprising that the Buckeyes and Irish have only played each other 6 times. That will change in 2021 and 2022 with a home and away with the Irish.

Surprising that the Buckeyes and Irish have only played each other 6 times. It's only because Woody Hayes refused to play Notre Dame. He believed that the Catholics in Ohio would be to torn between who to root for. Honestly I prefer they not at unless it's in a bowl game but in 2021 they have a two year contract. There maybe some Irish fans that will say one school was scared of the other but in all honesty it was a mutual respect. Ohio St recruits hard in Ohio as does Notre Dame. At one time if Woody Hayes knew he wasn't going to get a certain player from Ohio he would steer the kid towards Notre Dame to keep good athletes out of the hands of Michigan.

Times have certainly changed. It has gone un-said by most, but Urban Meyer, a devout Catholic as is others on his staff, use their faith as a recruiting strength in relating to and connecting with young talent from some of the top Catholic schools in the country. I don't believe he would have been able to establish such a relationship as they enjoy with St. Thomas Aquinas and others, without his knowledge and understanding of the faith. Administrators and coaches from those schools understand and appreciate this. Personally, I would like to see a Notre Dame presence on Ohio State schedules that could develop into rivalry status.

Well. Not only do you have the upcoming football game but also as you said on all schedules. Notre Dame joins the B1G in hockey starting next season. Which will renew rivalries with Michigan and Michigan State as well as possibly help build one with Ohio State. But that is college hockey and Ohio State isn't exactly a top tier program in the B1G let alone the country.
