NOL Girls league was really tough this year for sure. 5th place Willard has a serious shot at making Regionals in D3. All 4 teams in the NOL D2 District are Regional quality teams imo.

Shelby girls will face Norwalk girls on Thursday, 8:00 @ Willard.
The earlier game will feature Bellevue vs. Ontario.

Both of the games at Willard should be fun to watch. I would expect Bellevue to win their game (though anything can happen in tournaments); and if Norwalk plays Shelby like they've played their last 3 games, it will be a tough. The Lady Truckers seem to be clicking at the right time.

"When was that D 3 District ever strong?" Uhm,,,how about last year? SenecaEast was tough. Willard was NOL co champs. Crestview was ranked #1 in the State at the time. Riverdale wasn't too bad either. Marg is historically a tough out. Upper when they are D3 is another quality program.

Easy big guy, I was saying on a STATE level looking back I know the privates have com in and out the region as well however LB and others have had success. Going back to 2001 ONLY Wynford (this district?) has made it to the FINAL 4 let alone won a state championship, or been a runnerup... So while they have had good teams as I mentioned they are FAR from a girls power district. Unless I am missing something...

It's not historically a weak sister either. Although I would agree this year it's not overly strong. My point in the thread was saying that a 5th place NOL team Willard girls team,,can certainly win that District. I was attempting to point out what a Strong league the NOL girls is and now was in Hoops. The Willard Girls record I think was around .500 or so,,,but they had to deal with Shelby Bellevue Norwalk and Ontario 2 times each. As a D3 school going against those 4 D2 schools, it might give you losses, but it sure gets you ready for the Tourney in D3.

Not strong by any means, however having Willard drop down to D3 changes things just like when Upper did/does. By all means playing the schedule Willard plays prepares them to handle the FC, N10, SBC etc... However a great example was who in their right mind would have voted AC #1 in D3 last season??? Good luck to the Flashes

Would Love to see an NOL Girls Team make it to State in the Final Year. Won't be Willard, but it could be Bellevue or Shelby imo.

Winner of this district has a good chance to win regional semifinal vs Akron Hoban/Norton, but Ottawa-Glandorf would be a tough regional final matchup. Willard would most likely see Africentric in regional semifinal, then Archbold/Columbus Grove in regional final.

I saw Africentric last year play Seneca East. SE played right with them because of the guard play of Addachi. She could tear up court and shoot on the drive or dish if needed. If your guards are not really really solid and confident---you're done against them. The pressure is relentless and they are trapping and over playing all over the court. Willard didn't match up well with SE or Africentric last year. Just getting to play them would be about as much as this years team could ask for.

SE managed to have a lead at some point in all 4 quarters, but just couldn't quite pull in out in the end.
