So I have a question? How are they doing the SBC track this year and/or next year? One big division or are they sticking to the three divisions like basketball sense I assume all have track!? Not really the subject but just curious because I had heard it was going to be a all school SBC type meet on one weekend!?!?

We were told that the NOL will be charging for all weekday meets this year to prepare fans for having to pay at SBC meets. I understand paying for invites - but I can't remember ever having to pay for attending a dual, tri, or quad meet. Usually just walk right in and go to the area where your child is competing - field, track, pits, etc.
Do any schools also charge for parking? We've heard that some schools charge a parking fee, and then a ticket at the gate. That could rack up costs for a larger family.

Wow that's some bs. I hope you don't expect the parents to help during the meets if you are charging them to watch their kids perform.

At Norwalk, we were told that if parents signed up to help at the meet, then we would get free admission. The problem is so many parents have multiple kids competing in different events - so you volunteer to help at one event, but then you're stuck there and can't get over to watch your kids compete at other events.
Does the SBC charge for softball and baseball games as well?

N10 is charging for weekday meets starting this year too. This is going to get expensive for bigger families.

...and they wonder why fans don't attend. How many fans attend meets to begin with?

I can see charging for a invitational but for a quad, tri, or a single meet you don't get that much fans attending one of those meets especially some times if your working you show up late because they start at 4:pm. Everybody wants your last dollar I guess.

I see people complaining about paying to get in for track but they do it for all other sports like football and basketball. The money goes to the schools and for a good cause. It's a big deal because they never charged before for track and now you have to pay! I get it but what my concern is, is for the kids that support it at the home meets. That number will decline and for me it should be about the kids. I personally feel the kids that are in the high school (from both schools) should not have to pay to support there high school. The kids support and school spirit would be a lot better if that was the case. Just my opinion.

The only people who ever go to dual meets are parents and relatives anyway. They'll still show up.

If it's about bringing in money to support the schools and the parents will still show up, then charge for baseball and softball as well. Why only hit up the track families?

If they're going to start charging for track dual meets, will they charge for Cross Country meets? What about Golf and Tennis matches?

In baseball/softball they really can't charge admission because it's not like a pro stadium. If they start there will be more people standing out by the outfield fences watching from out there. I know I would be out there getting on the umpires for the bad calls they make. I hate umpires.
