Heck is coach at Perkins. One of there best young girls transferred to Sandusky . Several girls not playing next year, they will be lucky to have 12 girls from grades 9-12.

Why the hell is this on the boys topic board. Good question. And it's now in the girls forum.

I clicked on the topic that said girls basketball,so not sure what you are looking at. Anyways, sandusky has more talent behind Esposito than Perkins will have for the next couple of years. Several girls are not playing and the program was left in shambles by Neil. I am sure she will have the green light. I am sure transportation and the proximity played a factor in the move.

Kind of hard to think that Coach Neill left the program "in shambles" when they've won more games in one year than Sandusky has in 5. I have no affiliation with Sandusky or Perkins, but all I've heard is that the junior high experience of playing for Perkins and their 7th and 8th grade coaches was absolutely dreadful, and seeing how the numbers have dwindled, pretty much backs that up. I've heard they only have 6 total sophomores and freshman. Coach Heck may have to clean up the mess in the lower levels. I've seen a couple games last year, and if Esposito is their super-quick, super-athletic point guard, than yes, they may be in trouble. I believe she was 1st team all-league and all-district. What other girls are not coming back? I know Seigel, Winston, and Schoder give them some athleticism. If all of those girls aren't playing, then I guess you can say Sandusky has more talent. If they are playing, and why wouldn't they, then I'm not sure why you would think that Sandusky has more talent for years to come. Isnt Perkins still extremely young?

When you may have only 10 girls playing from grades 9 thru 12, yes I would consider that in shambles. They already lost Esposito and Lawson, who was the teams best rebounder. She has decided not to play. They still have Howard for now who is very athletic. If you look at the numbers over the years, they fall off once they get to high school. I am sure that happens everywhere but it has been very bad at Perkins for the past 3 or 4 years. Parents were told they were going to go in a different direction, yet hired someone that was currently on staff. That did not sit well for many players. As far as Sandusky, there 9th grade class is pretty good and I think they beat Perkins head to head for the next couple of years. However, it comes down to numbers and you need to have players to build a program. I wish Heck the best of luck but the situation is not ideal at Perkins.
