Now that we have our own league, who are the favorites this year? I see Highland out front with Danville, East Knox and maybe my Pirates battling it out. Centerburg lost a lot but they always seem to reload. MG lost Barnett and Bland. Northmor and Fredericktown struggled last year and not sure what they have back. MG, Northmor, East Knox and my Pirates are breaking in new coaches. The Pirates lost McCarrell and Pearl and a big senior class of skilled kids. We return the entire line and a couple of good skilled kids. Should be interesting

How many numbers for CTown? Hearing low numbers for MG. How about the Golden Knights?

Centerburg will be near the top. Seen the boys out tossing tractor tires on the hot parking lot last week . Conditioning

I'm excited for this season, mostly due to the separation from the MOAC. I think Highland is the team to beat but agree that Danville could be a team to watch. Highland will have to replace fullback Jared Limings but has a ton of athletes at the skill positions. If I recall Danville was fairly young last year, correct me if I am wrong.
Also, a lot of new faces this year with coaching changes at East Knox, Mt Gilead, Northmor, and Cardington.
First day of practices today, football is officially here.

specialed - Highland would of been the team to beat if the schools were still in the MOAC, the move to the KMAC is going to be a disaster, should of kept it like it was. There was only one reason the KMAC was started, and most Fighting Scots should know why. But I Think Danville will make the run for the KMAC title.

Why is it going to be a disaster? These schools were essentially a conference together in the MOAC. All they did was change their name and trade Elgin for Danville.

Trading Elgin football for Danville football in your league changes quite a bit.

The only reason I can think of why the MOAC Blue wanted to become the KMAC was so schools could win Conference Championships, instead of just division titles.

He must have enjoyed the MOAC Blue more than the schools did. Danville should battle for titles regularly in sports.

I love this new league. All small schools. I will miss the old MOAC....the original one....but since they expanded....this new KMAC is a victory for Morrow County and Knox County.

Although i'm on outsider this league makes sense. But I never saw Highland as being small school. Aren't they like 3 times the size of Danville?

Met the new coaches at Dingtown and Gilead yesterday. Both have around 40 kids at practice. One thing I really like about the KMAC is that all the rivalry games are sked for the last regular season game. Cardington - Mt. Gilead, East Knox - Danville, Highland - Northmor and Centerburg - Fredricktown.

Does Highland even know that Northmor is their biggest rival? Wouldn't Northmor occasionally have to beat them first? Sorry Northmor you just drew the short straw.

Highland has been a D4 school since at least 2004. Northmor a D5 until 2012 when they dropped to D6. From 2004 until 2009 the series in football was very competitive. Although Highland held a 5 win and 1 loss record with Northmor during that time, the only blow out was in 2007 when they won 45-15. the other 4 wins were by 8, 7, 3 and 2 points and Northmor won 28-27 in OT in 2006. Only after Northmor began slipping out of D5 into D6 did the scores get out of hand in favor of Highland but even as recently as 2014 they only defeated Northmor 31-28. Biggest rival? Maybe not, but they are only a short distance apart.

So essentially Northmor has beaten them once since 2004. That would be 1 for 13 for those of you keeping score at home. That's not even a rivalry big or otherwise.

They're not even adjoining school districts. Cardington and Mt.Gilead are between the two. Northmor is the Northern most school in the league and only one school is south of Highland. As the crow flies, no one in the league is further from Highland than Northmor. I'm sure Northmor was shocked to find out they were rivals. The truth be told, no one wanted to be Highland's "rival".

Highland's biggest rival was probably Cardington. But Cardington and Purple have too much history for Highland to ever be THE game. But I do hate me some Highland though.
Highland is by far the biggest school in this new league but due to their rivalries with Cardington, Freddy, and Centerburg.... I still like them in the league.
Northmor becomes Highland's rival by default because Cardington/MG, Devil-Dog, and Freddie/C-Burg are all well established long standing rivalries. Kinda how the B1G had to make Penn State and Sparty rivals.

LOL, smug ways....anyways, football is wide open. Highland won their first league title last year. So it's not like they have been dominating. Now if we want to talk about volleyball, Highland has not lost a set in league play in like 4 or 5 years.

Centerburg has a lot of new faces on both sides of the ball this year. Better numbers then the past couple of years as well. Hopefully the offense settles in for the scrimmage with Col Academy this Friday. Looking forward to talking Kmac football!!

I love my Trojans but wow!! Tonight's scrimmage with Columbus Academy was brutal to behold.. On offense we couldn't run the ball.. or pass the ball.. But we made up for it by not blocking or tackling anyone.. The first half was played and timed like a regular game, all punts and kickoffs were fair caught... My Trojans were down 34-0 at half... by the time the Varsity finished it was 40 or 41 to 0... Honestly there is a lot of soul searching and work to be done before Utica shows up next Friday night. The JV boys played a spirited quarter of football and managed a tie 6-6 with Academy's JV group... Looks like we picked a rough year to trade Elgin for Bishop Ready...
