I didn't want Wiggins traded from the get go. I certainly wanted Barnes over Neon Dion Waiters. I also wanted Valenciunas over TT, jury's out on that one. With Wiggins we still obviously win back to back east titles. To boot, Golden State prob trades Klay Thompson to Min for Love if we don't offer up Wiggins, and GS isn't near the machine they are now. Wiggins > Love. More energy, younger, better fit for our system.Cavs = Bills the only hope is one of these years someone beats GS in the west or someone gets hurt near the end. Almost happened this year. If Wiggens was drafted after GS won then they may not make the trade. LeBron was trying to replicate the Miami formula but should have looked at the team GS was building. It's still not clear that Wiggins is better or better for the Cavs since he can't shoot the 3 (yet). He would just clog up the lane that LeBron and Kyrie use to drive. Love's not great at the 3 but he's good for a power forward. Stretch PF's are hard to find. I don't think GS was ever serious on the Thompson-Love trade. If Lebron could shoot from outside, Cleveland wins this series.

It won't help the NBA. Sadly, I still think GS will win easily this evening. Just in case anyone wondered if this was the real Jake now we have our answer!

At the time I questioned the Wiggins trade but grew to like the idea of Love with the Cavs. Now I'm convinced they should have stayed with Wiggins.

I was clearly wrong. I honestly didn't think the Cavs had it in them to fight even without Green.

Physical play and long post-season favors Cleveland. Warriors look tired. I think this is true. When the Cavs play together and go after the ball - they seem unstoppable . . . but when they give half-*** effort - whew! LeBron played very physical - hitting the outside shot as well as going hard to the basket! The other guys seem to take his lead and play up. The 4th quarter of game 5 looked as if GS had given up - similar to how we played in our losses - just seemed to stop trying. If all show up to play Thursday night - the Cavs'll be in good shape! I am looking forward to another good game!

My LA Dodger avatar is invisible to all? At any rate, LBJ and Kyrie did their civic duties, and kept the city of Oakland from burning down for the time being.

My defense of K Love took a beating in game 5. He didn't rebound agressively. He was slow on his cuts. He wasn't looking to score and became a cheerleader. Only positive I saw was his good hustle on loose balls and his help defense. Wiggins would have been better.
If Love doesn't do better in the 2nd elimination game LeBron may give him his next concussion.

Love was coming off a concussion. I'll give him a pass for that reason. Plus LBJ and Kyrie weren't letting others take too many shots (rightly so).

Only positive I saw was his good hustle on loose balls and his help defense. Wiggins would have been better. If Love doesn't do better in the 2nd elimination game LeBron may give him his next concussion. I think a lot of people would agree that Kevin Love is the better player right now. Personally, I'd prefer Wiggins because the thought of pairing an aging Lebron with Wiggins/Irving as they age seems more appealing to me than pairing him with Love/Irving. I'm sure there was also some $ to be saved by Keeping Wiggins that could have maybe be spent elsewhere, but Im not sure about that....NBA salary cap stuff always seems so confusing. There is value even when Love doesn't stuff the stat sheet offensively, he does open the floor, which is great for players like Lebron and Kyrie and he is a top tier rebounder. At this point, it just seems like having Love is somewhat redundant. Thompson is a great rebounder and Frye is a stretch guy that they could use to matchup. Sometimes I wonder if the Cavs would have made the trade had they known they would acquire Frye later. I'm not trying to take anything away from Love, he has played a pretty valuable role on this team at times over the last two years, but there's always been the feeling that he doesn't fit for some reason, and two years later and it still hasn't went away. There's no denying that in this series the Cavs have looked best when Love is either not playing or is not a focal point. It's seems like when they stop worrying about getting Love his shots or fitting him into the game plan, they seem to perform better against the Warriors. Small sample size, yes, but you don't get very many chances in the NBA Finals....well unless you're Bill Russell or Sam Jones.

LeBron wanted the player that HE thought gave him the best shot at winning a title in the next couple of years after returning to Cleveland. LeBron gets what he wants.

One word: COMPOSURE! The Cavs kept theirs, the Warriors did not.
Sunday will be tough - but it is doable! Look at all the people who did not believe we would even have a game 6.
Our defense has been fabulous and LeBron is really leading this team. Tonight he stated, "Records are meant to be broken," when it was pointed out that the Cavs are only the 3rd team having been down 3-1, to force a game 7 - but neither before won.
This is the Cavs record to set!

Brad Sellers on the game tonight, "LeBron has put us in a position to win. The Caveliers believe that they belong here now."
This statement is so true. I think their is so much motivation going into Sunday!
The Warriors will be playing to 'not lose' - which is much different than the Cavs who will be playing to win!

I can't get pumped over NBA basketball, but I can't wait for game 7 on Sunday. The Cavs have climbed a steep hill to put themselves where they're at. Go Cavs!

Everyone wants to win. But its much better to take a "historically great" team to 7 games rather than lose in 5.
Last night was a treat. Cavs winning big, Lebron being spectacular, Curry getting tossed. Fans got to celebrate.

Interesting perspective on ESPN radio today: After last night's shenanigans with players and Curry's wife, Warriors are the new thugs in town. Everyone else in the country will be rooting for the Cavs to win.
Another thought - yes, no team has ever been down 3-1 and won the championship. However, no team has been up 3-1 and lost the championship. Again, the thought is - the Cavs are playing to win; the Warriors are playing to not lose.
I'll take our team led by LeBron anyday! I like our odds going into Sunday night!

Lebron in game 7's (3-2) overall L vs Pistons ECSF 2006 (61-79) - 27 pts, 8 reb, 2 ast, 1 st, 0 blk, 3 to on 11-24 shooting L vs Celtics ECSF 2008 (92-97) - 45 pts, 5 reb, 6 ast, 2 st, 0 blk, 2 to on 14-29 shooting W vsCeltics ECF 2012 (101-88) - 31 pts, 12 reb, 2 ast, 1 st, 1 blk, 3 to on 9-21 shooting W vs Pacers ECF 2013 (99-76) - 32 pts, 8 reb, 4 ast, 2 st, 1 blk, 2 to on 8-17 shooting W vs Spurs Finals 2013 (95-88) - 37 pts, 12 reb, 4 ast, 2 st, 0 blk, 2 to on 12-23 shooting
Seeing what he's done in this series, game 7's and the last 2 games I'm going with the stat line
32 pts, 10 reb, 7 ast, 2 st, 1 blk, 3 to on 12-26 shooting Cavs lose (111-98)
I hope I'm wrong. Go Cavs, it's time for Love to show up big and go for 20+ to compliment Kyrie and Lebron and get the Cavs the victory

Concussions are strange - I wonder how much Kevin Love has been affected. He seems a step slower and some of his shots are surprising misses.
We knew a young lady who suffered a concussion, and went through protocol. Her first game back she seemed fine, but then new symptoms appeared a week later that dogged her the rest of the season and into the next sport.
She said her brain knew what to do - but it felt like her body couldn't ever catch up. It's scary.

^^^^^ You make a good point.
Love was solid in the playoffs before the concussion.
His defense was decent and his 3pt% was around 43-44.

Kevin Love is way better than the media and people on Internet understand. The Cavs ripped through the East and he was huge part of that. Injuries are part of game and he was out last year or we may being going for repeat. Green is an immature athlete who earned his suspension. That act was not suspend action on its own but it was the last straw for a player who knew he was on his last straw. Anyone who disagrees with the suspension has no clue nor do they understand the NBA's flagrant math formula. It's easy for people who try and make the story vs follow the story will disagree.

Varejao tips in a Curry 3 pointer at the buzzer to win it for the Ws. 111-110.
Props to D-wass (who hasn't joined this site yet, afaik) for the thought.

Green was the same athlete at MSU, it is not immaturity. He has poisoned Golden State into the thugs of the NBA. Do you think Currry Thompson and Verejo acts like thy did if Green wasn't on that team? Him getting suspended for only one game after 3 times purposely kicking an opponent in the groin in the playoffs is asinine. If Golden State is paying Green big buck for beings a thug, it doesn't say much for their organization. What does Green do better for the team than being a thug? This isn't hockey.
