Old Jerry isn't putting up with this Poop anymore. Stand or sit for a game. Good for him and the future of Dallas. Cowboy players will break thru this soon enough. They are all having meetings and furious. Furious at what, they have no clue but oh golly are they mad.

If the Browns focused on winning as much as they did kneeling, they might actually win a game.

They are completely OUT OF THEIR MINDS!!!!Did you plan on going? I had my first and last cold weather Superbowl, when I attended Superbowl XVI at the Pontiac Silverdome. The wind and snow prevailed in cold, cold sub-freezing weather I will never forget. One of the team busses arrival was in great question, as a result of the arctic like conditions........crazy.

The NFL is toast. Ratings continue to plummet. The NBA is next followed by the MLB. I can't wait to see what these owners are going to do once the tax tit dries up.

Players will get paid less, the league will deteriote, and professional football will probably be worse off forever. In turn, football across all levels will wane even faster.

The NFL rewards franchises that build stadiums with roofs. It's a built in incentive, pun intended.

The NFL rewards franchises that build stadiums with roofs. It's a built in incentive, pun intended. Pretty good pun...lol I think a retractable roof really makes sense for baseball, where a shower can cancel a game. Some fans drive considerable distances for a game and if there is a chance of a rain-out or cold and crappy weather, they'll simply make it another day. It's nice to take mother nature out of the equation, so you can plan a day at the park, knowing with absolute certainty there will be a ballgame that day. From a management viewpoint, improved attendance and fewer double header make-up games your team must endure. I attend quite a few games at the 'Trop' and think it's a great place to watch baseball in relative comfort. RCA Dome , Home of the Indianapolis Colts Georgia Dome , Home of the Atlanta Falcons Cowboy Stadium (retractable roof) , Home of the Dallas Cowboys Ford Field , Home of the Dtroit Lions Metrodome , Home of the Minnesota Vikings Louisiana Superdome , Home of the New Orleans Saints Edward Jones Dome , Home of the St. Louis Rams Reliant Stadium (retractable roof) , Home of the Houston Texans University of Phoenix Stadium , Home of the Arizona Cardinals Quest field (retractable roof) , Home of the Seattle Seahawks MLB still has the Rays at Tropicana Field Astros, Mariners, Diamondbacks & Blue Jays all have retractables.

Just curious, because 2 of those stadiums no longer exist, another is in the process of being torn down, several of them have changed names, one lost its team to the city it originally gained it from, and one of the ones you listed as having a retractable roof is actually an open air stadium

I feel like that list is from 2005 It's hard to date it, since the RCA Dome's last season was 2007 and AT&T (Cowboys) Stadium's first season was 2009

I can see it's going to provide confusion at times with both the 'Mercedes Benz Stadium' in Georgia and the 'Mercedes Benz Superdome' in New Orleans. www.mbsuperdome.com/Wasn't aware of the renaming from Edward Jones to The Dome At America's Center....sheesh I knew Viking Stadium had a new name sponsor, but wasn't sure who. I think you got me straightened out.....finally.

He has screwed up the NFL so much that it will have to hit some all time lows before they can think about rebuilding its image. His speech the other day about kneeling was not only widely inaccurate but it was also so full of gibberish that at the end, I literally had zero clue what he was talking about or his point.

This isn't exactly the first time Roger Goodell has failed since he has been a walking PR disaster for the NFL. Wouldn't you have thought the ratings would have dropped a long time ago if this is attributed solely due to him? Even though he has had his moments frequently since 2006, ratings have mostly only declined only in the last 2 years. I'm not saying that politics have nothing to do with the decline. Events like the protesting may have a small effect. However, I think that's the least of the NFL's worries when it comes to the future. Political movements live and die over the course of a couple years at most and the NFL can easily wait out whatever controversy is going on now. You think these players are going to protest every game in the long term and continue the political discourse? I doubt it. They will get bored and find something else to be worried about. Meanwhile, viewers will come back since people have short memories and the NFL won't have to lift a finger. The ones that want to hold a grudge won't be missed. Meanwhile, look at charts like this: This trend will get only more pronounced as time goes on. These viewers likely arn't coming back. That's what I would be worried about if I'm the NFL.

Overall a steady decline. I think Rogers handling or guys like Ray Rice, pig cops on socks, etc has killed the NFL's image. I feel like many were waiting for a good reason not to watch the NFL anymore and they finally got it and are bailing out like a sinking titanic. Meanwhile, the players associations reps (nfl players) basically want the federal government to lower prison time for drug dealers and users. Wow, is that all this kneeling is about? GFY NFL.

They won't forget the players pulling the displays of disrespect for our flag, our National Anthem and our country and the NFL essentially downplaying matters and endorsing their actions. Those people will not forget.....ever.

Therefore veterans will have nobody to be mad at unless they want to some how hold owners accountable.

The thing is that you are only measuring the traditional TV ratings. You aren't taking into account what people are streaming or watching on their electronic devices. That's how many of the younger generation consume their entertainment now. My older kids don't even have cable, dish, etc.

Those that turn off the NFL channels, stop purchasing tickets, stop purchasing NFL endorsed sportswear etc., are not singling out any individuals. The NFL will have to change their policy and attitude to regain the lost trust and loyalty. This is a much deeper issue than most will understand, I'm afraid.

That's how many of the younger generation consume their entertainment now. My older kids don't even have cable, dish, etc. That is correct galion, I mentioned streaming as a reason for ratings being dropped. The NFL probably isn't as happy due to reduced revenue from streaming. How about this article that talks about the youth watching sports less than older generations. www.bloomberg.com/gadfly/articles/2016-11-25/tv-sport-loses-its-allure-for-younger-viewersThe 2nd chart takes into account advanced forms of media. Also, the polling sample leaves about .56% margin of error. I think this supports my point better below as well. www.lek.com/our-publications/lek-insights/sports-survey-digital-engagement-sports-and-millennials-part-1Very good study on the youth coming up. Millenials are not as interested in traditional sports as their older peers.

So in your eyes, there must be a policy on the books that address the protesting, regardless if this is an issue in the future? Explain to me the issue, is it just the lax attitude toward protesting the flag that is the problem or is there more to it? I admit I lack their perspective.

Verizon will pay more than $1.5 billion to stream NFL games. The wireless carrier is re-upping its deal with the NFL, and sources say it will pay more than $1.5 billion over five years to stream live games to its subscribers. Verizon is making the move in large part to boost the AOL and Yahoo properties it has spent billions on in the past few years. Verizon’s last deal with the NFL, which runs through the current season, cost the carrier $1 billion over four years. That means Verizon is paying at least 20 percent more per season for the games. www.recode.net/2017/12/11/16760394/verizon-nfl-games-stream-football-1-5-billionEither Verizon is stupid or they don't think the NFL is dead yet.

It's an entertainment factor. I enjoy watching football ~ at all levels. College is my favorite, however I enjoy watching professional. I respect the opinion of those who don't watch. But I'm sure they have another source of entertainment. I might enjoy it, I might prefer something else.
At one time I enjoyed watching WWF wrestling. Then I didn't. So now I don't watch - it doesn't make me angry that other people do. It's their right. The world would be pretty boring if we all liked the same thing.
Some people buy lottery tickets, some go to the movies or concerts, some watch professional sports, and others buy vehicles . . . it's not stealing if you're getting what you expect from the entertainment.
