The Redskins make the long trip to W. W. Skiles Field to get their own taste of what the Whippets have been dishing out this year
Have these two schools ever played before?

Google shows a 1 hour 15 minute commute from PC. I'm guessing that's a 1 hour and 45 minutes by bus.

I would hope they roll they probably wish they were in the Lake division to help them prepare for a long playoff run. I have not seen Sandusky or Clyde play this year but I'm pretty sure if they were in the Lake division I would put my money on them. Them being Shelby! Good luck the rest of the way.

This will be just like the Clyde and Sandusky game vs PC ... Shelby will run over them too

The Shelby Offense is Great. The Defense doesn't get enough credit!

Won't bet a lot on it!!!

A friend just sent me this info that he compiled, and I don't have the hard numbers but here is what he found:
Shelby is presently third in all of Ohio in point differential, regardless of division. They are only beaten out by two other D4 schools...Cincinnati Wyoming and Clinton-Massie.
Shelby has given up the second fewest points in the state of Ohio this year. That puts them behind Dayton Belmont, who has given up just 9 points in 7 games.

Other than St Marys I can't see anyone in region 14 even giving them a game. Another match-up with the Big Red looms.

who on earth voted clear fork higher than shelby in the polls? The pattern I usually see is that the voters tend to heavily rely on the Harbin points when doing AP polls. 1 Steubenville - most playoff points in D4 2 Valley View - 2nd most playoff points 3 Perry - Final Four appearance last year (they got waxed by Steubenville, but whatever it matters to them) 4 Clinton-Massie - Debatable if better than Shelby, but they are often in this position and have two state titles in the past 5 years 5 Clear Fork - 3rd most playoff points 6 Poland Seminary - Has made playoffs 9 out of past 10 years, with exception of last year 7 London - 4th most playoff points 8 Shelby - I think it is right here that they start filling out the rest. Shelby went 11-2 last year, so here they go 9 Firelands - Usually not a good team. Here they go 10 Wyoming - Will make playoffs more often than not, but often doesn't do a thing

who on earth voted clear fork higher than shelby in the polls? I would say it is because Clear Fork has harder schedule then Shelby. I think Clear Fork could lose a game and still be ahead of them in rankings. It's all about numbers. I see Shelby in week 14 minimum! IMO

In fact Shelby hasn't played a single snap this season with a full compliment of their starters. Week 5 vs Norwalk was suppose to be the week everyone was back, but they lost 6'5" 300lb OL who is getting several D1 looks during the Bellevue game and all-league LB hurt his knee in practice during the week of Norwalk game. The LB maybe played a series or two against Norwalk before they sat him out...and neither has played since...but they are expected back before the end of the season

Shelby has a real nice team.
As good as last year, I don't know.
The teams they have played this year are down in talent, big time!!
Look at Lex, Madison and Bellevue, what's their records!!!
Yes they have missed some players this year for different reasons.
But as good or better than last year, big question!!!

It is pretty naive to question if they are better after returning nearly 100% of the personnel generating offense from last year.
They are better. We know about the big names, but the 3rd, 4th, and 5th options have gotten significantly better. The line and defense looked like they were going to take a step back, but thus far it hasn't mattered. The schedule can be debated, but Drew Pasteur has their schedule ranked #33rd toughest in the division, which isn't indicating any true deficiency in the competition played up to this point.

They have 6 players that if they transferred to another school would be the best player on their new teams offense.
They have an O line I'd put at the 70-75 percentile and improving.
They have a smothering D.
If they clean up the penalties and the O line continues to improve they'll be dang near unstoppable.

I think you are misunderstanding what I was trying to say. I think Shelby will win Region 14. I just think it would be cool if they ended up playing Clear Fork in say the Region 14 finals. It would be kind of cool to see 2 Richland County schools play in a game at either Arlin Field or Ram Field at Startek Stadium.

i would say two schools to keep an eye on in that region St Mary Memorial and Firelands, although i dont think the Whippets would have a problem with Firelands, might be a tough matchup against st Mary.
