Define easier? If you are referring to playing schools with the same number of boys in high school verses playing teams with 25-30% more boys (old NOL teams), the playing field is now leveling for them. Define leveling for them? If you mean down grading their schedule to play and easier schedule than we are agreeing. If I said less challenging instead of easier would that be better for you? I was not trying to offend only stating the changes in their schedule SHOULD improve their record. I wouldn’t call it downgrading their schedule I would call it playing schools more their size.

I think its a fair statement, but I also agree with moneyball's statement regarding 2 years from now, willard may have a team comparable to some of the best teams in willard's history I have avoided commenting on this thread because it is an internal Willard thing however this one caught my eye... "I think its a fair statement, but I also agree with moneyball's statement regarding 2 years from now, willard may have a team comparable to some of the best teams in willard's history"WOW..... I will let Scarlet educate as needed of if necessary as once again this is a Willard thing...

You have 2 grades that are loaded with talent and decent players the year before them and the year behind them.

Oh my goodness, as if this couldn’t get any dumber. Comparable to the best in Willard’s history? Come on man, I’m not even a Willard fan and know that’s laughable. So Willard is going to go from consecutive seasons of less than 5 wins to one of the best in Willard’s history? You’ve seriously gotta be just messing with us right? Like, you did that just to lighten things up right?

It doesn’t matter if you used the word “may”, to even insinuate it is laughable. I get it, you’re a parent and excited and saw some of these kids have success in junior high but there will probably be 20 Willard teams from the past that will be better than them. This thread just gets crazier and crazier.

That's been said since 2007 Next year the flashes will be 500. But the next two years after that, hold on because they will be a force to be reckoned with. Maybe, *if* players don't quit and all stay eligible / on the team / don't have parents that move them out of the system. That's been an issue over the past decade and saying otherwise is wishful thinking.

If this team ended up 25th best in Willard history I'd do cartwheels. If the freshmen were that awesome they'd all be starting on a 3-4 win varsity squad playing a weak schedule. I do think in 2 years if everyone stays on course, the 8th grade situation doesn't run anyone off... we can have a very nice group of kids. I won't put higher expectations on them than that, and just enjoy the ride.

I think part of that was a new coaching staff coming in on the fly I'd imagine. Now when I say we probably aren't top 25 in Willard history that's no slam. Willard's had some *awesome* teams, at least a dozen that were serious state title threats and another dozen that could have made a nice run if not for playing monster teams. I would so love a competitive Flashes hoops team. There's nothing else to do in winter around here. Let's get to .500 first and build from there is my thought as the first 'bite' at a time.

You've said some REALLY silly things on this thread, but with this one you have lost ALL credibility. You are missing the point. The idea to keep a group of kids together that have tremendous chemistry is something that is hard to do becauae you want to take a couple players you think will help you win now and move them up. The problem is they are not helping that varsity team win so why not keep the juniors on the varsity and play a majority of the freshman at freshman and possibly let a few play a few quarters of jv. splitting them all up weakened the freshman all together.

Scarlet, You were very kind to your fellow Willardite the schedule has changed so drastically that to be a top 20 Willard team of all time they would need to basically go undefeated. I would really like to see Willard turn the corner again as well love them or hate them it was fun... JJ would have so much chatter on a Friday/Saturday night never better than when the Diebler's joined in the fray in the early 2000's...
