He isn't damaged goods if did what he said he did and reported the abuse to the AD or the compliance committee in 2015. Which is what he is required to do. AND did in 2009.

If he followed protocol,,,what else was he supposed to do? I'm not 100% sure any crime was committed by Zack Smith. The Powell police ,,who were called 66 times would surely have put him in jail by now if something bad was going on. I'm telling you,,this gal CS is a hot mess and when all is said and done these abuse allegations may also go away. Was he an adulterer? Yes. Was he an abusive husband, I'm not sure because if he was,,,it's not as if the police, the parents, and everyone else didn't seem to know about the situation, yet he never went to jail over the allegations.
If Urban is gonna be fired over it,,,better fire every police officer in Powell right with him,,,and Gene Smith and the put her parents in jail too for allowing the daughter to stay with him if he was that terrible to her. Point being,,,someones story just doesn't add up to abuse and a crime because the living situation and the people she reached out to would have surely done something about it if it was .

Why in the world would any Buckeye fan want UM to go at this point? I understand why every UM opponent would not want him to stay even before last week.

Urban is absolutely damaged good’s. How on earth can he lead his team? He has zero credibility and his integrity is damaged. If I’m an OSU player or recruit how am I supposed to take him seriously? Here’s a guy who has a mural on the wall that say’s treat women with respect but he knowingly kept a domestic abuser on his staff. How can you respect that? I sure as hell can’t and if you are going to argue he did his duty or make a case to deny anything happened. I really just don’t know what to say to you. Then there is the fact that Urban said he was caught of guard by the questioning at media day. So his base line response to being caught off guard about this is to lie. First instinctive response is to lie. That says a lot about a human being.

A wife had to be beaten and children had to live in a situation that by any account would be considered bad. Urban Meyer going down in flames isn’t worth any of that at all. Unlike many following this saga my moral compass is working just fine.

It's interesting how some people rush to judgement when they really have none of the details. I am sure it will come out in t he investigation. If he did something wrong, then he will go, but my suspicion is that he did everything right. None of us really know what the situation is with Smith and his wife. The media always rushes to judgement. I for one, think he should not be fired but will wait for more details.

Are you basing this on the police reports, court cases or the eye witness events you were at? You mean like the police records from October 26th 2015 that notes injuries to Cortney Smith post fight? Note that the police took a knife, smashed iPhone and some USB’s. The Powell Police believed he had committed felonious assault but the Delaware county prosecutor refused to press charges. I have to assume who he was helped Zach avoid the charges given the time of year. There’s not a Columbus area prosecutor that’s charging a OSU coach or player with anything short of murder during the home stretch of a national title run. What’s interesting is that the Powell PD are dug in trying to fight giving out the rest of the report from the 26th. Usually that means you have something to hide. So I mean the police reports actually available tend to point towards Zach Smith being guilty as sin. Then you add in the txt’s that indicate clearly something was happening. I find The Shelly Meyer text’s to be especially damning. I mean you could try to discredit McMurphy until you sit back and realize his career is on the line. If he’s wrong about any of this he’s done and he’ll be facing sure fire libel suits and the end of any credibility he has.

So what you are saying is the lack of police reports led you to assume a verdict. Did your hear the McMurphy interview on Cbus radio. He stated he has no proof Meyer knew anything and couldn't answer to proof of the alleged violence.

How many reports of domestic violence do you need to make a conclusion? 2? 3? do they need different officers? Does the report need to document injury and get sent to the prosecutor with a recommendation for charges like the one I referenced? I did hear the interview and thought it was legit. He had no smoking gun to pin Urban down and anyone who read the info would agree. However he was confident in his sources and documentation. He was proven to be right when Urban confirmed his core allegation which was that Urban knew in 2015 and lied about it. Which makes his credibility A1 going forward.

Nobody claims McMurhy's credibility is in question. It's the people who hear an allegation but have already signed the death certificate. Let's get some proof first. Here a question I would have liked to hear from McMurphy to CS. Why did you wait until after your ex-husband was fired before you wanted and interview?

A little tidbit,,,rumors are that Ed Warriner the UM Oline coach and former OSU Oline coach whom Urban fired is behind some of this info reaching McMurphey. Another rumor I'm reading is that CS edited the text message who she and McMurphey are using as a basis of getting their version of the facts out. It makes sense,,because a lot of folks in the know have felt this is a troubled woman and is desperate to somehow cash in on a lawsuit against OSU and Meyer.
Once the Police testify at the divorce hearing a lot of the yet unheard story will become public and I have a feeling the whole narrative might just change. When you hear these kind of events take place, it kinda makes you glad you're just an anonymous person rather than a famed coach who is at the top with bottom feeders taking shots at you like this reporter and an estranged ex wife of an assistant coach.

First instinctive response is to lie. That says a lot about a human being. EVERY report of abuse was investigated by police and not enough evidence was found to file charges. If you know ANYTHING about this issue, you would know that the abused person is always given the benefit of doubt. If you were knowledgeable, you would also know that if you fire an employee for something that can not be proven you set yourself up for a multi million dollar lawsuit. In 2009 the records show that Urban did what his responsibility was and reported what he heard(not what he witnessed or know for certain) to the correct source at the University. Gene Smith has said that in 2015 Urban AGAIN did the same thing and filed a report with the University on what he heard. AGAIN, not what he know or saw, only 2nd or 3rd hand information. Smith said that the Urban and the University knew about every report of abuse. They also knew that the legal system in each case couldn't find enough evidence to file a charge. Don't be silly. has there ever been a coach who has never been less than honest with the press? Give us one example that you are 100% sure about and can prove it. Can Smith's wife be trusted as being 100% honest when she's a known alcoholic that has 3 DUI arrests and her defense for driving under the influence three times(that we know of) was that her husband was stalking her.

I’m sorry but you can blame the Delaware County Prosecutors office all day, but if the officers who dealt with those incidents didn’t ascertain that criminal charges should be pursued, even if she didn’t want to especially Domestic Violence, then you have nothing. If the cops felt it was appropriate they would have pursued Domestic Violence charges on her behalf. Buckeye country or not a Civil Lawsuit doesn’t care what season it is or how well the bucks are doing and I doubt this is a big cover up from the cops to the prosecutor and up.
Redskin you got the guy guilty and a jury of his peers haven’t even been called to order. Absolutely no criminal charges the only thing that matter in the legal realm were ever filed. This dude gets a bad rep and he probably is a dirtbag, but it takes two to tango and she is very very very far from some poor little innocent victim.
This all came to light because he Urban lies on Media day.
Let us not forget some of these other coaches out there who have done same and worse but are still at the helm of the boat.

He's just another of the thousands of fake news sensationalists that don't do their due diligence or just straight up LIE to get published.

I can picture how Warriner and Harbaugh convo went.
Ed, “Coach, I’m going be perfectly honest with you. There is no way in hell we can beat Ohio State straight up.”
Jim, “Do you think we should go on a better trip next year?”
Ed, “No, that’s not going to work.”
Jim, “Should we stay over night at more recruits places?”
Ed, “No, that’s just weird. Actually I was thinking this...there’s a hot mess on Urban’s staff that he has a soft spot for because he’s Earl Bruce’s grandson.”
Jim. “Who’s Earl Bruce?”
Ed, “Never mind that’s not the point. We plant a story to some out of work reported and see if he takes the bait and maybe we get lucky and screw up Ohio State’s season”
Jim. “Would they still play the games or cancel the season?”
Ed, “It’s not like a coach was raping little boys at Penn State. They will still play the season.” Jim, “Ed go ahead and plant the story, but we still aren’t winning in Columbus”

here is what we dont know, because the nice reporter didnt check in on it..
***Was the female convicted of DUI on more than one occasion.
*** i dont know bout the police in powell, but certainly the ones in erie county dont mess around when it comes to domestic violence, therefore since he wasn't arrested nor charged. and 66 phone calls were made... something just doesnt add up!
*** the reporter involved did not do anything on Urban's side. he went after Urban, did he do a check with Ohio State on this? did he ask for public records on Zach Smith?
If urban meyer was told by the higher ups that they didnt deem it necessary to release him anytime before current, then he is off the hook far as im concerned..
everyone blowing panties over this reporters story,, did anyone see how his story changed over and over and over ?
if urban made the decision to keep this guy on all by himself, then we have a problem.... the fact all this alone is over his head, and he kept going back to this woman.. thats a departing from program issue...

I am an Urban supporter and believer. I agree with almost everything that has been said on this thread in support of Urban. However, my mind cant get past one simple thing. If everything we say in support of Urban regarding this situation is accurate, then why fire ZS after this story is broke by McMurphy. Please help my simple mind understand this?

When ZS broke the restraining order dropping of his kids was he arrested? Didn't that trigger the firing? Everything else came out after that. The nation did not know the ex-wife had a restraining order until then. Plus, if I have read things correctly, he had never been arrested before then. If he was then.
