This will be the 76th meeting between these 2 schools. Bellevue leads the all-time series 37-36-2. Last year Shelby won 46-0 in the regular season and 42-21 in the Regional Championship game.
Next year will be the first season these 2 schools will not play each other since 1943, however, according to Arbiterlive this series is only taking a 2 year break, and will resume in week 3 of 2021.

When is the last time that Bellevue started 0-4? I have no idea. However, that last time I know for absolute sure they did was 1926 (Bellevue's most recent winless & tieless season at 0-7).

If Shelby wins and Willard loses to Lakota, Shelby is going to be looking at the near minimum playoff points possible for their schedule up through this point. I highlight Willard losing to Lakota because that game isn't a given, while the Lex and Madison games are going to be L's in my eyes.
Shelby ought to have plenty of opportunities to harvest points going forward, but it is an interesting quirk to see going into week 4.

When is the last time that Bellevue started 0-4? Before Ed came I'm assuming . Definitely before Ed. It's also possible that it was before Adams and Schaffer as well, but there are a several losing seasons in their years where an 0-4 start could have happened, but I don't know in which order the wins and losses occurred. Watched all 3 games on tv, looks like Shelby has a good team again this year. They cannot over look Bellevue, they will come to play. Some one earlier mentioned teams having discipline, just wondering are they referring to team, coaches or players or both? I know ever one thinks they know more than the coaches but I have a problem with Shelby. Why are starters out on field in 3rd quarter last Friday, same thing was done first game this year and was done all the time last year! Some of you will say they need experience in playing together because its a new year, if they played these players last year when they were running up scores on teams these kids would have experience playing together. 3 starters I believe got hurt last year when they should not have been on field running up scores on teams!! Other coaches have done same thing but I think you are setting a bad example as a team and coach!! That said, good luck to both teams the rest of this year, remember I am just a side line or coach potato coach!!!!

If you have kids splitting time between frosh and jv schedules then they can't play 2 quarters in a varsity game as well.

I don't think it is a good argument to say that Shelby should have benched their players during the 3rd and 4th quarters last year to prevent injuries. Would they have been served better against Steubenville in the 4th quarter last season if they only saw the 4th quarter every three or four games during the regular season? I think not. I'd take my chances on injuries if it gives my players better in-game conditioning every single time.

If you have kids splitting time between frosh and jv schedules then they can't play 2 quarters in a varsity game as well. I do not believe there is a weekly limit. Only a limit for daily and the total season. In theory a kid could play all 4 quarters of the freshman, varsity and jv games but would run out of quarters in week 5.

I like that the coach keeps some starters out there to help develop some of the underclassman. So, keep your starting line in there with your starting QB and your backup receivers and backup running back in there to help develop them. I see the positive in that and by no means am I a coach but I play like I am on here sometimes LOL. This will be a game, we can't let our guard down because Bellevue will play hard and I can't remember the last time they started 0-4.

Shelby's defense, especially the line and linebackers, is young. IF you remember correctly, a suspect Lexington team ran all over the field and bullied their way over Shelby for much of the game. I expect Coach N will attempt to do the same thing and probably succeed. Shelby is one year away IMO from being a solid scary team, Just my opinion.
