What is your favorite pizza joint around this area.
Please don’t tell me about some place in Chicago or New York.
And no big chains, I want to hear about the good mom and pop places in the local towns.
I like the Pizza Wheel in Bellevue Ohio

Agree with Peans and Pizza Post. Only been there a few times but I liked the place in Bucyrus, I think it was Bakers.

Before or after the divorce? Before the divorce, if you ordered a pizza with everything it literally was over 2 inches thick with toppings. Since the divorce, when the wife got the business, the toppings are not quite as thick.

Since the divorce, when the wife got the business, the toppings are not quite as thick. I didn't know anything about a split with the owners, but now that you said that I did think the last pizza we got there was a little subpar for them with the toppings. I have had Southside pizza and Countryside pizza both in Mansfield that were pretty good.

The divorce happened over 20 years ago. The next generation is probably running it now.
I've never met a pizza I didn't like, but there are two good ones in Ontario almost across from each other on Route 309. The one on the south side, The Warrior's pizza has won at least 2 1st place awards at a national competition in Vegas. Pappa's on the North side has a yummy greasy pizza if that's your thing. Both are more than Pizza places. The Warrior also has almost any kind sandwich conceivable as well as soft serve and hard ice cream cones, Sunday's and milkshakes. Pappa's is a full menu Italian restaurant. ONCE a year they serve Egg Plant Parmesan and people come from MILES away to get it, reservations only that night.

Does Warrior have dine in? I've heard plenty about it and thinking about giving it a try. Also for the Bucyrus folk I've heard Pisanello's is better than Baker's( their opinion), is it as advertised?

I haven't tried Pisanello's yet, but based on how good Baker's is I look forward to eventually putting that to the test.

I love Chet and Matt's in Sandusky Also love Pisanello's Bowling Green (and now elsewhere) Myles Pizza Bowling Green is a 5* (I think they closed recently?)
Definately want to try Warriors in Ontario! Did a Google Maps search and was surprised to see the blue Vette on the roof...lol Pretty cool. Couldn't find the Italian restaurant, nothing but empty field across the road, so I assume it's on up the road a bit. When WF called their pizza 'greasy', I'm assuming that grease is in fact, olive oil.

Don't know why but it is better than Bucyrus and Bowling Green must be the water ?

Warrior does have dine in, good pizza. I've set out for the Warrior before and drove on by, as there were cars lined up in the road to get into the parking lot.

It's probably a tad "out of the area" but Courthouse Pizzeria in downtown Medina serves up some pretty darn amazing pizza.
EDIT: They serve two sizes: by the slice (the slices are huge), or an 18" pie.

How has nobody said Pete’s or Fathead’s
Brick Oven in Sandusky as well.
Pean’s is solid in monroeville, so is Jim’s in Milan
I live in Norwalk and rarely go to Post. It’s ok thou.
Pizza Wheel is cool, def an 80’s vibe dining in if you can find it.
Original Cameo good, their chain locations are okay.
Bakers good.
I’ll have to try Warrior.

Anybody remember Pizza Bill's in Shelby ? It's too bad it closed down it is still the best Pizza and Sub I have had and I have tried a bunch. Yeah it was great Dominos moved into Shelby ran everyone else off and ruined that town it used to have Pizza Bills, Pizza Palace, and Bowers Pizza now all the pizza in that towns sucks. Other than Napolis Pizza it is ok. It's the only one of the old ones still left. Domino's is trash you may as well eat the box

Probably won't be the last either. Been hearing that one for a LONG time. Mama's Pizza (was right next to KFC) wasn't bad, but when the "Mama" in Mama's Pizza passed away, I don't think they ever re-opened. Two Cousins in downtown Mansfield is pretty good too. Not crazy about their subs, but their pizza isn't bad. I just never get to that part of town long enough to get food there (same for Leaning Tower).

Leaning Tower was one of the first pizza places in this part of Ohio. THE first in Mansfield. Early 50's I think. It survived a big fire and a robbery where someone was shot.
