Good for him. With the contracts some of the recent guys have received it makes them feel they are capable as well. Also opens doors for other players. It's not like the cabinet is empty. No if he is a flop in the NFL it will open some eyes to future players. But it does seem that Meyer's players get excellent advice on their probable draft options.

I think Noah Brown was even more surprising than Samuel, but most people I follow on twitter and read on forums thought Samuel would come back next year. Good luck to him though and now i'm excited to see what Demario McCall can do.

I'm not surprised by Samuel leaving. I would go if I was him. Brown was a surprise to me. Dude had 1 good game.

Good or bad Ohio State is turning into the Kentucky of college football.

man that was a sick highlight film, that Tate kid can motor eh? From the highlights he plays like Johnny Manziel. Hopefully he's like Manziel on the field and not like him off the field. yeah the way he digs with his thighs when he runs, the first person i thought of was Manziel

So I take it next year is just another "rebuilding year" with no expectations for the playoffs? Seems to be the going trend when OSU loses you automatically hear nearly everyone say Oh well, they are young, I didn't expect them to do anything this year anyhow. That is a pussy mentality.

The new excuse from blowhard OSU fans who never played a down in their life yet know it all. "Well OSU is sending so many to the NFL, so we just can't keep our studs around and that is why we can't make it or lose in the playoffs". Take note, mark it down, its coming.

They were the youngest team in the country. With that being said they should be in the playoffs and/or winning the big 10 every year. That's the expectation and always will be while Urban is the head coach.

This is not your ordinary, run of the mill college football program. This is THE Ohio State University, the largest University, with the largest athletic budget, the largest nationwide fan base, perhaps the best coach in college football, historically top recruiting classes year in and year out and all played in one of the most storied venues in college football. Yearly expectations are at the highest level each and every year for good reasons.

Who cares is a 4th string WR transfers? Raise your hand if you thought Torrance Gibson was ever going to do anything in a Buckeye uniform once he switched to WR. *crickets* What's his excuse? Kentucky will push him harder?

Torch's "eh" says it all. Gibson was "given a chance" to change positions when that was what HE wanted. Gibson was "given a chance" to climb the WR depth chart, a position he'd never played before. Gibson was "given a chance" until he broke Ohio State rules. Urban was in favor of Gibson being further "given a chance", but was overruled by the University and was suspended for a semester. Gibson was "given a chance" to rejoin the team, which he turned down for a much smaller and easier school to compete at, to give himself a better chance.

Marshon Latimore declares for the draft. The strength of last year's team is now the weakness of next year's team.

Ed Warriner making a lateral move to OL coach at Minnesota, leaves me scratching my head.....Minnesota?.....really? It appears there was no effort from Urban to retain Warriner and it was time to part ways.

So many solid cbs coming in and there's a few on depth chart waiting for there chance just like lattimore did. We'll be fine there, gonna be deep at lb too. Defense is gonna be solid.

Ed Warriner was fired on Monday. OSU didn't publicly announce it because they wanted to allow him to find a new job first. The same thing happened a few years ago with Everett Withers who took a job with JMU. OSU has struggled for two years with him as OC. The higher up a guy gets in the coaching chain the easier it is to get fired---because expectations also go up. Greg Schiano Chip Kelley Kevin Wilson--all 3 examples of that in one way or another.
Luke Fickell and PJ Fleck are both on to bigger and higher paying jobs---both will need to win or will face the same as these other guys.
I didn't read anywhere that T Gibson was offered a chance to Rejoin the team. Not saying that wasn't the case WF,,,I just never read that on Scout or Rivals---they have said all along that the info they were getting from the team sources was that it was gonna be an uphill battle for him to ever play at OSU

I think academics, or not attending classes was in the mix of issues with Torrance, as I recall reading a while back.

Urban wanted to keep him in school and work with him. The University over ruled and Urban said he'd be welcomed back after his suspension. Not going to class, not going to study table and tutoring sessions was his problems. He's looking for a school he can play football and not worry too much about academics. One of those Florida high school athletes that were given grades so he could play.

What I saw of Arnett and Ward this year doesn't give me a warn and fuzzy feeling. IMO playing/starting in the D-backfield as true freshman is more difficult that starting on the O-line as a true Freshman.

Who do you think is the better O-line coach Warriner or Studrara? You don't know, I don't know, only Urban Meyer can answer that one and he's done that.

The writing is on the wall. Urban is done with OSU and everyone knows it. I think he's gone in 2 years.
