RV dominated that one after half, Galion missing Lackey was beat inside. There is 0 reason the coaches son should get a varsity minute. Alsip decent game, few bad shot selections. But heated up at times

Starts and plays just about the whole game. 0 points on about 0/8 from field or more (a lot of wide open looks), some silly fouls. Drew a charge on a flop was his best play of the game.
Kid may be decent one day, but should be playing with the kids in his class.

Not seeing them play much and not remembering the roster, is he playing out of need or only because Dad is calling the shots.

He does not look like a Varsity player, definitely not one that should be playing as many minutes as he has this year. However, there program is also lacking depth and talent, so it is touch to say either way.

Like 4 said though, he'll be good but should be playing Jv this year.

From what I heard, Galion came back...I think they have turned the corner and as a Galion fan, I am pumped that we will have plenty of momentum and we will carry it all the way to state because we have the best player in the state

From what I heard, Galion came back...I think they have turned the corner and as a Galion fan, I am pumped that we will have plenty of momentum and we will carry it all the way to state because we have the best player in the state lol stop. But what a game by Alsip. 34 points and 19 in 4th My view of Alsip and his effect on his team: Most of Alsips' missed shots are rebounded by the opposition; which is, for the "good" of the team, just as bad as the proverbial turnover. If you lose even one key rebounder, namely "Lackey", it really exasperates the situation for the team. When he's "on", Alsip can be "lights out"; however, when he's "off", the opposition fast breaks and gains momentum. As we all know, basketball is a team game and not an individual sport, as "one person does not a team make." That being said, one could say that one key piece of a very good team is in place, namely a sharpshooting guard; but the rest of the team pales in comparison. Hence a poor record, but a guard who is capable of lighting it up. Great for him, but still doesn't push the team towards .500 basketball, let alone District Championship level play.

Ont-50 MP-46 F CF takes the league. MP, did everything possible to keep ball out of Shaver's hands. He had 10 in the first half, but only 4 in the second. Ontario's 3 guards were all on target with their 3-pointers in the first half, opening an 8 point lead. With Ontario's 3 guards having to play almost the entire game due to no decent replacements on the bench(Shaver never left the floor), in the second half their 3-point shots weren't falling. So Shaver and Coburn went to the basket and Ontario's inside players had to make plays to hold off Pleasant. IMO Plesant's Warner could be the best player in the league. Very quick for a 6-5 and a very good 3-point shooter, he had 18. Ontario did a decent job defensively on their other 2 scorers. 6-4 Freshman Amil Upchurch has made considerable strides this season. He came off the bench as a sub in the post for the first couple of Freshman games, then became a starter on the Freshman team. At the mid-point of the season he was moved up to the JV team as a starter. Then last night he was given the job as the PG on the JV team. Making the JVs look better than they have all year. He's a string bean, weighing only 145, if he puts on some weight he should help the varsity next year.

That was the goal set by Balogh for his team, to keep them working hard after a bad start with too many turnovers and poor shooting. IMO, Joe's best coaching job in his 33 years. Due to all of the injuries and issues, he only has 4 players, 2 of which are Sophomores and a serviceable 6-3 football player as the other starter who hasn't played the past 2 seasons due to knee injuries. No one taller than him. No bench players, just 2 that play a few minutes per game. All starters playing 90% or more of the minutes in close games. T The RV coaching philosophy changed dramatically since the first RV game. Very little effort was made to get the ball down low to their 6-6 240 post and leading scorer, who m dominated in the first game. At the beginning of the game it appeared the coach didn't want a shot unless it was a layup. RV wasn't getting lay ups and Ontario's 3 guards were all draining 3-pointers. He used 4 of his 5 timeouts in the first quarter, trying to stem the tide.
